  • Fantastic! Did you arrange this yourself? I'm super impressed. This is my favorite track from this score and you definitely did it justice. I know this is a strange question, but what kind of camera do you use? Your audio quality is always superb. I can never get mine to sound that good... granted, I have a 50 year old upright piano and a crappy digital camera, haha ;o) I'm not in the "digital age"!

  • @Guinevere723 Yes, this one I arranged myself. Well I use a cheap handy cam (Sony DCR-SR35) so I don't recommend that. It is the sound recording that is the most important. For my new videos I am using Midi with a virtual instrument (Steinway sample) and before this I used a digital soundrecorder Edirol with very good microphones. So the video camera is not a big thing on the sound. So an expensive camera doesn't help to improve. I hope this helps :O)

  • Absolutely brilliantly played! I definitely think 'The Last Samurai' score is completely underrated. Personally it's my favourite movie score of all time. Hans Zimmer is a legend! And you pay tribute to his beautiful music incredibly well!

  • @Sarabi25 Yes! I have to agree with you on that. His Last Samurai scoreis really underrated. Btw I also like his maestro theme he wrote for the movie the Holiday. Also not that familair. It is hard what pieces are the most populair of HZ. Maybe the POTC series but I am not that fond of it. Also Inception is not my favorite. I think Batman Begins/Dark Knight but then again JNH collaborate with that one ;-)

  • There's just something with all the pieces from this OST. They are incredibly emotional and you do not fail to deliver! Great job! ;D

  • @JoyDreamerJourney Thanks Joy for commenting on my video again! So you also like this score like Alex? That is great!! ^_^

  • dude this is hella epic man, hans zimmer would be jealous lol

  • WOW!! Thanks a lot for all the great comments on my new video! I really appreciate it ^_^

  • Dude I literally listened to this for HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's perfection !!

  • @mYOwngUn Hehe, I can also listen for hours to the original soundtrack. The Last Samurai score is an instant classic. I bet I still listen to this score over 10 years :-)

  • So Armageddon is the first one, and it's pretty difficult to find some good covers (not even talking about sheets...), I bet you're up to the task. Another one I'm very much into these days is the theme of Crimson Tide (Zimmer+Glennie Smith+Gregson Williams= Epic!), and I've spotted some good performances, but I'd like to see you give it a try too ;-) That's it for the requests sir! Oh, and one last thing! You seem to have some trouble with the name "Brian Tyler", it's not "Brain Tyler"! hihi.

  • @alexiskirat Crimson Tide? Don't know this one very well. You seem to be a true mediaventures fan ;-) I am more of a JNH fan. What is the name of the Crimson Tide theme? Thanks for all the suggestions. I am always happy to hear that. And listen to new music! Haha, you are right! In the first place I thought you were joking as I couldn't find the difference :P But your right. I always type Brain :S Thanks again for correcting me ^_^ Have a great sunday!

  • And I'd like to suggest some tracks I'd love you to give them a try. I know you're probably very busy (JNW 2nd piano medley? More Transformers DOTM? Tears Of The Sun?...), but as an avid soundtrack collector (I've got more than 80) I have been listening consistently for 10 years to Armageddon soundtrack (among others), an amazing one, and I was wondering if you enjoyed it (particularily the complete score with "Asteroid Chase - The Shuttle Crash" and "A wing and a prayer")? So powerful too.

  • @alexiskirat WOW! You are really up to date! haha, I am indeed busy with my JNH part2! I love the cues I chosen. But I need to delete some cues as it is now around 15 minutes and I can't upload above 15 minutes. I have some difficulties with the modulation of Peter Pan cue so I think I delete that one and use it in my JNH part 3 :P I really want to do a Peter Pan cue. Or maybe I should make a seperate video of that one. Yes, I am busy with another T3 piece. "Our Final Hope" and "there is no plan

  • @alexiskirat Tears of the sun is indeed EXTREMELY beautiful. I already started with the Journey Kopano part III. But it is very hard to transcribe the African Singer voice which is fenominal. That voice cannot be deleted. I really want to get back to that one. But that is really a bugger to transcribe :S

  • @alexiskirat And thanks for the suggestion. I am not familair with the Armageddon score. I know the main theme of course ;-) Can you send me a personal message about this. I am quite interested in this.

  • Thanks Noud for this amazing cover, once more, great job as usual, and thanks even more for the sheets! This soundtrack is really one of Zimmer's best, so much more subtle than some others (even though I believe I enjoy almost all his soundtracks), so poweful and emotional. Now I'm gonna be quite busy with your latest piano transcriptions (Sentinel Prime and this one especially) :-) Cheers mate.

  • @alexiskirat Thanks for your broad message. I think the last samurai is quite an under estimated score. It makes me happy you also think this is one of his best. For me it is indeed his best work. In the first place James Horner would have composed this score and I was really disappointed that Zimmer took over. But I am happy that Zimmer took over as this is very hard to top. Although I am still curious how Horner would have done it ^_^ Haha, Sentinel Prime is also epic. I guess you like that;)

  • Yes yes yes yes yes YES! I was SO happy when I saw this in my inbox! I love the entire soundtrack to this movie, it's incredibly beautiful.

  • @Annaaa693 Yes, I cannot get enough of this score too. This soundtrack together with the Horse Whisperer and the Village are ALWAYS on my ipod. No matter what :P

  • dude I LOVE YOU!!!!

  • @DLTLegend hahaha, good to hear you like film music piano cover's ;-)

  • this score, i mean the whole score of The last samurai will always have a place in my heart :)

it´s hard to describe the feeling i have when listening to it. Melancholy, epicness..

it conveys the mystery and beauty of the samurai culture. Thanks for playing another piece of this soundtrack. I love the whole video, but from 6:00 it gets even better :)

    great job, Noud! It´s awesome!

  • @acuity1980 Hehe, yes i know you like this score a lot. Just like me. I think putting the pictures in the video gives it an extra feeling to the mystery and beauty of the samurai culture. Love the landscape pictures! Hehe, I also like the last part! It is great to play it. The piece Safe Passage starts with approximately the same cue as that one. I need to do that one as well. But first I need to finish my projects The Way of the Sword and Red Warrior ;-)

  • @juggernoud1 Gaaahhhh Red Warrior! i think at some point i have to spend some money on that pianoplateau site :D absolutely worth the investment!

  • Beautiful music as always :)

  • @alasdair101halo Thanks!

  • Yes, yes, yes! I've been waiting for Last Samurai from you :) 3:17 my fav part :) Great Juggernoud1. Simply brilliant!

  • @deultimate Thanks mate! I am glad you like this Last Samurai cover! This is not my first Last Samurai cover by the way ;-) I already made an acoustic version of this without the last 2 minutes. And I made a recording of A Small Measure of Peace, Taken for 2 piano's and I am working on Way of the Sword and Red Warrior.
