You could twist your hair a curl and slick it down with gel and pin it. Or you could draw it on! We did The Boyfriend the musical in high school, and we drew the kiss curls on our heads!

Yep, you can get Mac in Australia. I'm not too sure where you are. I'm in Sydney. Around me there's a Mac pro store. You can also get it from Myers and David Jones in the city, and Myers in a lot of suburban stores.

its not good to do dark eyes with dark lips it makes it look cheap and tarty. if ur doin dark eyes go for a nude lip and if ur doin dark lips go for a simple look for the eyes or else it will end up lookin clowinish than glam.

i was just wondering why you put liquid liner on and then shadow, does this keep the makeup from creasing? my makeup easily creases, how could i prevent that?

I did the liner before the shadow in this case because I wanted the black colour to be quite intense. Without a good base colour, the black will look a little weak.

Women of this period usually had short straight bobs, very angular, or very wavy hairstyles. Flappers were all about shunning the restrictions made on women of the previous century. They wore short skirts, a lot of makeup, smoked, drinked, and had many lovers. So let it look free spirited, that's the key.

Exactly! Yes. And I pick off the glue with tweezers. You can reuse them about 3-4 times easily.

That's what they did in the 20s. THey had very thin eyebrows and they exaggerated them out like that.

Wow - excellent recreation of 'flapper' makeup. Thankfully, you didn't have to use actual vintage makeup, like the mascara which was colored wax, heated and daubed on with a small orangestick. Off to check out your other videos!

I pick off the glue from the lashes... using both my fingers and tweezers. And then very gently use an oil based makeup remover (gently off by mac) and wipe them between two tissues.

I use mostly Napoleon Perdis brushes, with a couple of Mac brushes. With the Napoleon brushes, I have no idea which number they are!!! I should really look into that!

I use a lot of gel to slick back her hair. And simply shaped the curls on her forehead with my fingers, trying to get it to stick to her head. I also needed to use some hairspray for it too.

Yes I did do the hair. I just curled the fringe using gel and stuck to her head with the gel and some hairspray. The rest of the hair is smothered in gel and pulled back into a bun/chignon.

I agree, if a small beauty mark was added, maybe by the chin like Jean Harlow did, I think it would have pulled the flapper look together even more. Otherwise, really fantastic work. I've seen many flapper make-up videos here and yours is the best by a long shot! I love the whole era so I'm familiar with the makeup of that time, and you really hit the nail on the head with it. Wish I could be one of your make-up models, you do such fun and fabulous work.

I don't know what your personal taste is, but I have had this clipping of a mac ad from years ago with Mary J Blige and Missy Elliot, with this gorgeous berry red lipstick. and smokey neutral eyes. I've loved it for years, but haven't had the right model for it!!! If you lived close to me, I'd do that look on you!
