I am surprised like there is so much dig - "hostile" real deal talk in reference of the what might call "huns". Like, what is so wonderful bout the Poles, for that matter? There record of human rights, in historical sense- antisemitic, right wing, in more respects like Germany in the sense of fascist leanings. such a terrible time..my family is from warsaw and were taken over time 11 of my family members went to camps just because we were jews,only 4 survived i met them in 08 and im gonna see them again next year..my other side of the family from the states both my grandfathers,their brothers,their cousins all served in the army,marines,navy during ww2..my grandfather was in the 8th infantry he served on d-day then later on they discoverd a camp..horrible thing. rip all those who died

Liest mal was über Geschichte, im gegensatz zu den deutschen zur Zeiten Hitlers habt ihr ja die möglichkeiten dazu. Danzig gehörte nach seiner Gründung 653 Jahre lang zu Polen und dann 146 Jahre lang zu Deutschland, die Polen hatten zurecht Danzig 1918 zurückbekommen, war ja seit seiner entstehung ne Polnische stadt...

Bei dem angesprochenem "Raum" handelt es sich nicht um polnischen, sondern um deutschen. 3.) Vor den Teilungen im 18. Jhd. war Polen ein multinationales Gebilde, welches aus einer Personalunion zwischen Litauen und Polen entstanden war, wobei ca. 80% des Gesamtterritoriums ursprünglich litauisch waren. Die Polen als Staatsvolk waren lediglich eine Minderheit.

Von den Entente-Mächten wurden nach dem 1. Weltkrieg sog. "Curzon-Linien" im Westen und Osten Polens festgelegt. Diese entsprachen in etwa den Volkstumsgrenzen und damit dem Selbsbestimmungsrecht der Völker. Die Linie im Osten war fast identisch mit der heutigen polnischen Ostgrenze. Im Westen wäre lediglich der südliche Teil der preussischen Provinz Posen an Polen gefallen. Das Gebiet innerhalb dieser Curzon-Linien ist Polen - nicht mehr und nicht weniger.

Ist wohl dopellt gemoppelt. Danzig wurde 960-980 gegründet, um 1119 wurde Danzig an Polen angeschlossen (War also Polnisch). Erst als Russland, das Heilige römische Reich und Österreich-Ungarn, Polen unter sich aufteilten, ging Danzig 1772 an Preußen. Dann war Polen zwar von der Karte verschwunden, aber als es 1918 neu gegründet wurde, haben wir u.a. Danzig zurückbekommen und manche Deutschen sagen immernoch es gehörte ihnen... xD

Unter polnischer Herrschaft war Danzig eigentlich eine freie Stadt; es bestand lediglich eine polnische Oberhoheit. Die Bevölkerung Danzigs war um 1918 (und auch zu jeder Zeit davor) fast vollständig deutsch. Niemand wollte zu Polen gehören. Außerdem hat 1918 Polen Danzig nicht "zurückerhalten", Danzig wurde ein eigener Staat.

Danzig gehörte seit seiner Gründung zum (slawischen) Herzogtum Pommern, welches sich polnischen und dänischen Unterwerfungsversuchen ausgesetzt sah. Bereits zu dieser Zeit handelte es sich um eine deutsche Kaufmannssiedlung. 1308 fiel die Stadt an den Deutschen Orden, 1466 wurde sie freie Stadt unter polnischer Oberhoheit. Nach der 3. polnischen Teilung fiel sie an das Kgr. Preussen.

Ich bestreite nicht, dass Danzig zwischen 1466 und 1795 nominell zu Polen gehörte. Das ändert überhaupt nichts daran, dass es sich in dieser Zeit um eine rein deutsche Stadt handelte, übigens um ein bedeutendes Mitglied im Städtebund der Deutschen Hanse. Unter polnische Oberhoheit hatte man sich 1466 freiwillig begeben, um der rigiden Herrschaft des Deutschordensstaates zu entgehen, der, im Gegensatz zu Polen, keinerlei Selbstständigkeit gewährte.
