I remember Norm Macdonald saying how Chris never thought out himself as funny at all and how he was tired of hearing about Chris being compared to Belushi, because honestly Chris Farley was ten times funnier than Belushi ever was.

I remember the day Chris died. My best friend at the time called me, and I just started to cry. I was only 13, but he changed my humor and other's as well. I truly loved him, even without ever meeting the guy. Poor man couldn;t love himself. Miss you Chris, may you rest peacefully

Chris Farley was funny as hell and died too soon. Why would you think that it would be easy to talk about his death so soon to people through T.V.?

@dannyd1572 as you saw, Conan mentioned he just found out an hour before taping the show, of Chris's passing. So, maybe Conan was, um, taken aback by the news and left him still unsettled. Since they worked together at SNL, friends, etc. He had been doing Late Night for four years by this point, so I think it's safe to say he knew what he was doing, host-wise.
