Communism is not anti-democratic, decisions are to be made by vote. Marx's whole idea is to create a classless, stateless society free from oppression.

Fascism defines itself as anti-democratic and as the opposite of communism, and fascists explicitly believe that corporations should control the state.

You are confusing political/economic systems with personality cults. In societies that have totalitarian traditions (Czarist Russia, Imperial China) those traditions remained part of society.

Socialism has been practical throughout Europe and the US for many years. We have many socialist institutions within the US and most consider those elements essential. Socialism is proving its practical value every single day for people in nations throughout the world.

Socialism like public schools, labor unions, fire departments, public health insurance, social security, public highways and transport...all of these are perfectly practical applications of socialist ideas.

Both in practice and in theory fascism and socialism are total opposites. In theory, as I mentioned, fascism is fundamentally anti-democratic, anti-socialist--these are tenets of Italian fascism.

Also in practice, fascists like Pinochet, Mussolini, and Franco were opposed politically by socialists/communists and communists/socialists were targeted for political assassination by fascists.

England, France, Germany, Holland are not socialist. They are capitalist democracies with a percentage of public industries. Corporations make profits that create jobs with benefits. Meaning more people paying taxes and less people needing the government. You cant reverse that. I could pay $400 a week in taxes or collect $400 a week in unemlpyment. The difference is profit. Profit is good. Socialism a miserable totalitarian failure.

Doctors in England are employees of the state. Vast sectors of the EU economy are socialist, starting with the fact that the EU exists at all. Again you don't seem to understand that socialism is economic, not political.

Corporations funnel profits away from workers and communities and toward an economic elite. Adam Smith recognized how important it was to restrain these elites because they cannot control themselves in their greed. We see countless examples. Socialism is a means to do this.

There is also a huge private sector, but most choose to stay in the public sector, not just because it pays way more than the average salary but because they actually take the hippocratic oath literally. Fundamentally you fail to understand both communism and capitalism. Both of these are ECONOMIC systems, not political ones.

Every single one of the countries you mention had totalitarian regimes in place BEFORE socialist revolutions. So the POLITICAL systems in those countries often did not change much even if the economic systems did.

Capitalists have relied repeatedly on monstrous violence against people all over the developing world. Start with genocide in the continental US for example.
