  • At the peak of his chess career, Eric Lobron had an Elo rating of 2625. Since the mid-2000s he has played little over-the-board chess, but competes online at The Internet Chess Club as Yardbird, where he holds one of the highest blitz ratings. He is also known to be a good player of Backgammon.

  • Instead of 5. ... Bb6, 5. ... Be7 transposes to a line of the tarrasch french that you like (with an extra move for each player).

  • Well played, btw can you play blind fold?

  • an 1800 can play blindfold, i'm sure he can - the question really becomes how many games can he do simultaneously lol

  • Yeah, you should block out your opponents name somehow. You jinx yourself way too much.

  • You have in fact beaten GM Yardbird before- do we know his true identity?

  • Yes, fischerqueen.

  • YARDBIRD was the first GM that I beat. I notice that you play much less aggressively against GMs than you do against lower rated players. For instance you didn't even consider playing g5 whilst you had very little hesitation playing it against the 1900's rated player. I think that you underestimate yourself and that you should play as aggressively against GMs as you do against lower ranked players. Cheers....

  • I agree.. then again I'm rated 1500 OTB, so what do I know??!!!!!

    :-)

As usual 'Crusher, these are so addictive, thanks again!

  • Oh well good try!

  • ef5 allows a brilliant sac on g8 then Qf6 check and you are mated :P.
