This and a few other stranglers songs sound like the punk offshoot oi which was pioneered by Sham69, the Angelic Upstarts and Cockney Rejects.

I have trouble with the "sound-like" connection. They may have shared some pub-rock energy but that was about it. The Stranglers started before Oi! in 74. Sham 69 (76), Angelic Upstarts & Cockney Rejects (77). Oi! style is more a fusion of 76 UK punk and and other genres -whereas the Stranglers were always a more "music-oriented" growl + keyboards ++ - even this song doesn't really follow a particular genre.
