I know she knows nothing about true Italian cooking, but the day she said to add bottled ketchup to your meatball mixture, was the days she lost me. The hot dogs in the Italain potato salad were runner up! LOL! Heck I'm not even mentioning the Jarred spaghetti sauce...on an Italian cooking show, no less!

Her grandpas $ bought her a spot on TV. She failed at everything she tried before as it was 'too hard' or 'too much' for her...or her private clients got tired of her semi-homemade BS. When the other hosts are busting their butts cleaning up, prepping or hauling around huge pots of food, Giada excuses herself to "go change my out fit". She lives in a fantasy world. When pastry cheffing is "too hard" work for you, you need to forget about professional cooking. There is not much lighter work.

houchi! I JUST said that to my husband! This chick was going to be a pastry chef too!I dont like to be bitchy but I cant watch her show,its all about LOOK AT ME,we watch for the recipes! other cooks like Ina & Rachael are working thier butts off,lifting pots into oven that weigh ton, making 4 disahes at once. This gal is a "princess",never works too hard for sure. I'm Italian,her recipes are NOT authentic. I guess she figured out if she keeps her neckline low she'll be at least the men to watch.

I owndreed why she went to Cul school and never became a chef...did some personal chef stuff then TV. I see why now, she is NOT about hard work and pressure. If I see her make one more freakin "recipe" by smearing NUTella on some premade cake or one more toated ital bread with bits of soemthing on it, I think I will scream. I tune her in only for about 10 mins so I dont miss the start of Barefoot Contessa and can bearly get thru it. Many say they just cant watch her "performance"...I must agree.

Narashava: No, the cook chooses thier own menus. I dont often comment but I do have a problem w/Giada. She's not really a cook, she just putters in the kitchen. Too much centered around toasting round of breads& making so called meals or dessrets from them. She does not really WORK like a cook should. Also she plays up the ITALIAN part. She has not got a clue about authentic Italian food why lie? The day my grandma or mom would put KETCHUP in meatballs or put HOTDOGS in our potato salad ,wow!
