Great little film, especially the commentary by Morgan. I'll never forget Ian's comments on the Live album, "The lights being what thay are, Morgan Fisher eventually appears", or something like that. MTH, one of my all time favorite bands. I'm just sorry I never got to see them live, although I have seen Ian many times over the years since then.
Thanks so much Mr Morgan Fisher for sharing memories and film footage whit us....you and all the other Mott The Hoople dudes are my musical heroes...no other band comes close IMO.
Morgan, This piece was insightful and beautifully done. Was that the Celebrity Theatre in Anaheim,Ca?..Damn. I was 10 years old and 15 miles away from there when in 1974. I love Mott and Ian Hunter, great band and Ian is playing tomarrow night here. Very cool..Peace and Thanks...
thank you for this little insight into one of the most under-rated bands of the 70s-------------good to see after all these years, great gigs with that band queen backing you ,,,ps any more
thank you for this little insight into one of the most under-rated bands of the 70s-------------good to see after all these years, great gigs with that band queen backing you
This was really cool. I was born in Cleveland. We moved to the East Coast in the early 70`s. We visited cousins in Cleveland who were huge Mott fans. Everybody around liked the band. It was the coolest thing but nobody knew the band so much where we lived. I was like ten years old singing All the Young dudes and other songs. Great memories
I love how things seem to be interleaved in Rock and Roll. Morgan Fisher was a band member of Mott The Hoople. In this tour they had Queen as a support act. In 1972 Morgan Fisher had recorded an album with Tim Staffell, which had been the singer in Smile, the band which became Queen. In 1982 Morgan Fisher became a support musician for Queen's 1982 tour.
Thank you Morgan Fisher for this beautiful documentary, I was 18 at the time and I remember dreaming about America for the beauty of rock and underground culture that it represented.
I finally enjoyed it myself too, few years later. The music of Mott the Hoople is here to stay to keep that dream alive although America is not the same, unfortunatly.
well done here MF!...I've personally been listening to R&R since 1964 - for 44 years - and I have to say that MTH Live imho is arguably (along with The Allman Brothers Live At Filmore East) the best live R&R lp ever recorded - simply magical!...we just need more live footage from that tour so that the you tube generation can properly appreciate the magic of this band...
That was just absolutely brilliant! Truly loved it. Thanks so much. Mott The Hoople meant the world to me as a young boy. Their memory always brings a warm smile. Simply great. Best of luck to you Morgan, keep on, keepin' on!
I appreciated knowing Morgan's thoughts and feelings and the insights into the inimitable Ariel Bender. When he mentioned "Sucker", it reminded me of the magical, almost mysterious intensity this band could display. Morgan, I just have three little words: "Eh....Drive On!" R&R
Morgan was a contributor to the fab "Storm The Gates Of Heaven" 1978 album by Wayne County & the Electric Chairs!(all Mainman elated, as both Mott and ayne were signed to Bowie's mainman organization in the mid 70s)
What a treat that was. It is hard to find much video and info on Mott The Hoople, and one could not ask for much more than this first hand account. Well-told as well. Thank you Morgan!
Thanks for that vid! I loved it! I was able to get an All Access pass for the Uris shows, when I was a young girl, about 16 yrs old. I was there for every performance.Queen opened.Fun times! Then we went to Boston,& that was fun too. The after parties were some of the best any band ever had, in my experience!
wonderful to see this and a marvelous and eloquent commentary by mr Fisher. Makes us melancholy and nostalgic oldies realise just how bereft 21st century can be of anything original
amazing!!!!! Thanks for the memories. I agree about "Sucker". An amazing tune. I cannot tell you how many thousands of times that I have listened to Mott Live. In my top 5 of all time.
Incredible piece, any insight into this unfortunatly underated band is more than welcome. So many of today's bands and musicians have been positively affected by the work of Mott The Hoople that they should absolutely be included in the Rock and Roll hall of fame in Cleveland. Who ever is in charge of who gets in and who doesn't should be ashamed of themselves for leaving out the greatest rock and roll band of all time up to now.
Good guess - actually I have about 40 minutes of material. Perhaps it will all be released one day. For this DVD the producers decided to include only these excerpts. Many thanks to you and all who made such nice comments. Cheers! Morgan Fisher
Wow incredible stuff, thankyou. I am a big MTH fan having seen them about 10 times from 69 to 74 including the Buxton festival with yourself and Luther.Amazing to get an insiders perspective. Take care and thanks again
Absolutely wonderful! One of my favorite bands of all time. My band was fortunate enough to open for Ian Hunter and his KILLER band at the Coach House (in So. Cal.) a couple of weeks ago. What a great night! Thanks for posting this footage!
Just remarkable! Loved every second! Bravo!!!!!

Thank you Morgan.
I saw this tour and met you and Ian Hunter in Seattle at the Edgewater Hotel.
I was a somewhat bratty 19-year-old, and demanded Rock Party Excitement.
You and Ian both were gracious, though I remember Ariel Bender crawling through the halls on his hands and knees.
Thank you for some great music and some great memories!
