it reminds me of a concert i saw in düsseldorf with my brother....first row...and this track so loud, the walls were shaking.....orgasm for the ears....! bought 2 tkts for the next show in bochum the next day! F242 4ever!!!!
If i remember correctly, some guy from my school managed to "borrow" the Emulator discs from the stage after the concert. Word got around who had the discs and they were returned a few days later. The guy was then greatly rewarded with tour souvenirs by the band.
@Demarchist This was my time! And yes, you would have loved to have seen these guys live! Best gig I ever went to was Front 242 way back when. And this is a great track.
Ok Kids, 242 sounds crude and rough here. These guys had just pounded the club scene with tunes like "Welcome to Paradise" and "Headhunter". This came from the 1989 "Never Stop" release. The New Beat generation was being taken over by the Techno and Hardfloor sounds like this. Go find the "Never stop" mini album. It is highly acidic, and rythmic. Also look for Greater than one, old Ministry, PTP, Depth Charge, Acid Horse, Technoid, New Scene, Enzyme ETC. Evolution.
When they played at Numbers in Houston in 1989 people kept throwing stuff at them so they cried and stopped the show. It was an AWESOME 20 minutes though, and I really wished they could have played more.. Everyone in Houston loved this band but a couple jackwads spoiled it for the rest of us.
"shelter sloke and honor rolling sky", "the solar rays keep shower metal shell", "the streaming landscapes below" "the choice is clear and the end is near"
I cannot explain why all the 80s artist from all kind of music decided to change their beat. Listen to this rhythm and the sound of the drum. It's tipically from 1980's. This is the sound? I know that for an evolution a change is needed but... Listen to this perfect sound. Look at their look and clothes. That was awesome
After watching a lot of footage from 242...you can tell that these guys were pretty damn influencial. The way they work a crowd seems to have been copied by many artists. I hate hiphop, but hip hop artist seem to do/try the same things on stage.
yeah but a bunchh of technowave bands were doing this earlier than shit-hop. a lot of late 70s electronic had a punk edge to it. thus the aggression.

Saw them twice: 1989 in Cirkus Krone (Munich) - that was the best ever!
And 1991 in Airport Munich - good but not as good as 2 years before.
But: FRONT242 ARE EBM - they are the best!!! ^^

I saw this tour in Salt Lake City. Amazing! My t-shirt from the show reads, "Punish Your Machine." I was always asked what that meant.

The following month in 1989 they played in Chicago. What a crazy, violent show. I was 14 and getting stomped. Wicked times and a great tour!

@Demarchist
I saw them live, in the 90's, and it was basically two guys standing in front of their keyboards the whole time like DJs. Same with New Order.
Now Skinny Puppy, Ministry and Pig Face, they put on a show.

@Demarchist Trust me your better off, Imagine what its like seeing them back then, and having to live with the pathetic state music of now.

sorry mate
For all those people you insulted on youtube with your nasty shit like "NIGGER" and " hope your mum gets cancer " and " you got aids "
you deserve all the shit i could possibly pour on you !
What's so amazing is your quite happy to call black people niggers one minute and then on another channel say how fond you are of electronic music.
Your such a cretin, i mean, at your age OVER 40
its embarressing
