It actually sounds only vaguely like Horowitz. I was doubting if this was authentic--maybe just a fluke? Could it be that some technically talented kid recorded this and posted as the Horowitz version?
It look like the Horowitz's carmen variation mixed with the Scriabin Etude Op.2 No.1. on the slow passage. Really strange version. An horowitz with not all his fury ;) tnanks for posting

this is horowitz - it was the concert version he was thinking of doing in 1957 - it's mentioned in some of the known literature.
