I can download ROMs from kitchens that people post on forums, and they look awesome, especially the Maxsense UI. Customization on the iphone is just limited to icons doing a jiggly dance and moving them. Wow. Amazing. Plus, I have the ability of multitasking, which the iphone 3gs does not. actually the touch pro2 is only 0.25 mm thinner than the touch pro....hey don't you think that the sprint touch pro GREATLY resembles the unlocked touch pro2? amazing. lol sprint gave htc their base design...
In my opinion, each HTC phone takes a lot of steps forward, while taking a few key steps back. When the Mogul/6800 gave way to the TP/6850, we lost the Comm Manager button, as well as the Start menu button, both of which I used frequently. Now the TP2 loses the D pad and the camera flash, which I guess is ok, because I only used the D pad for games (i.e. infrequently) and took pictures only rarely. But still I like buttons if it's a program I use frequently. I'm always using Comm Manager

Just to set the record straight... The MSM7201a is *NOT* "newer" than the MSM7200a. The 7201 is a version of the 7200 that *excludes* some video encoding technologies due to some patent suit between Broadcom (I believe) and Qualcomm. The 7200 has this microcode in it. It is, in turn, a better processor. The Sprint Touch Pro2 uses neither... It uses an MSM7600.
For some reason, I had absolutely no idea that the original Touch Pro had a real keyboard. The only prob. I have now is it's formed in a grid. :/ Hmmm. Maybe I'll just get the original? :)
they're all the same, just different companies, the one you saw was probably the sprint version. the only thing thats updated on that one is that is has a 3.5 mm audio jack

I had a HTC Diamond and it was fantastic headset but i was missing the keyboard, so i have upgraded to HTC PRO. I have never had HTC PRO in my hand so i am a bit scared of its thickness. Personally i think is always good to have few buttons even on touch screen orientated phone. Can anyone comment on HTC PRO will i regret upgrading from diamond?
You will regret it period. The Pro has severe keyboard problems. I have been through quite a few warranty exchanges due to the keyboard going out, so I upgraded to the Pro 2 and so far have had no problems. Its really top of the line, and if you can upgrade to it, I would. I would try a warranty claim. I got my Pro 2 for free since I was having so many problems with the Pro.
WM6.5 runs absolutely crappy on the original Touch Pro. Given the TP2 has 20meg less RAM as this guy is stating, I can't imagine it being any more usable. Maybe Opera is just a crappy browser but I can't take how sluggish the interface is, and how your selections get backlogged in the CPU's queue, some times it gets so laggy it's unusuable as you accidently select the wrong things.
I had the touch pro 2 last week. Its a badass phone by the looks but the software (Windows Mobile) sucks. It is kind of laggy, like any other windows mobile phone. If this touch pro 2 was android omg it would be the best phone ever!

Just got the Tilt 2, ATT version of TP2. I LOVE ATT's keyboard layout--dedicated number row is a waste of space. Tons of shortcut keys and common symbols makes email quick and painless.
Bigger keyboard and screen are great. Getting ready to flash the latest custom ROM on this bad boy to get rid of ATT crapware.
One thing that really bothers me about the TP2 is the stylus. After using iPhones for the past year, I don't want to use a stylus, and having one there would just bother me as it's a piece of the phone that could just slip out, but not having it there (and instead, a big hole) would bother me even more.
I think still having the stylus is a good OPTION. You dont have to use it. But for Notes, its cool to still be able to scribble something down or draw something out.

This video has definitely made me decide not to get the TP2 -- the magnetic stylus was necessary & every camera should have flash. I've ruined some of the greatest pictures because my phone's camera didn't have flash & it's just ridiculous when cameras don't. I also don't know why everyone is complaining the TP1 was slow because mine definitely isn't & my battery life is great (I use it all the time as well). Anyways, if HTC decides to give the TP2 flash & a magnetic stylus I'll totally get it!
i seriously dont think that a magnetic stylus should be the reason not to buy this phone. this phones touch scrreen is MUCH more responsive than the TP1. the touch flo 3d is also new and improved. although i wished it had flash, this is a cell phone. i dosent have everything the world has to offer. besides using a camera is much more effective than a cell phone. the TP1 dosent have flash either.
I'm not sure which TP1 you have, but mine has flash and the magnetic stylus is just a huge bonus. I'm clumsy by nature and need features like that. Yeah, it's definitely upgraded and a whole lot nicer, but it's just not everything I would want. Why buy something that doesn't have everything I want when there are phones that do? :) I appreciate your input though.

No offense to the dude in the video, but the TP2 batter smashes the tp1 battery. I have had 3 tp1s and all of them only had a 3.5 to 4 hour constant usage battery life, the touch pro 2 easily gets me 10+ hours of non stop usage.
Also, he says the sprint touch pro can get the fm radio and the tp2 cannot. Once again this is bad info, the tp1 could not get the fm radio and is not capable of it, now on the TP2 this is working wonderfully. No offense to him, but he was uneducated. Experience here
Temperbad "no offense" but the Tp1 does has FM radio capability. Also, you might have had better life on your TP2 because of the way you've used it, battery life varies depending on the user, do your research before you go thinking you can tell a phone expert they are "uneducated" ....no offense.
That's called anecdotal evidence and it also happens to be wrong. How long your battery lasts depends on how you use it, and it's easy to install something that drains it more than usual without realizing it. My TP battery lasts plenty of time on MightyROM and FYI the TP2's battery is even bigger.
I have had three of them and the battery in all mine have sucked too. Would never buy this phone again because of that reason alone - and it's no fluke because I've had to trade it in twice because of keyboard issues.

What's up with the lack of a camera flash? The HTC G1, HTC Magic, nor the HTC Mytouch have them. And just to clarify it up. T-Mobile has the TouchPro 2 and Sprint will have the HTC Hero. The software for Hero is out, but not the phone. I worked for both companies this month : )
I assume the TP2 in this video is the GSM version? That would explain less battery life, especially if the phone spent more time in idle than in use. CDMA generally has less talk time, more standby time than GSM.

Yes, if you get the one with windows mobile 6.5 which just came out, it has a marketplace.
WM6.5 just came out and was made to compete with the iphone and droids.
It has become a mobile version of Linux vs Windows vs Apple haha.
But you can count on both pumping a bunch of applications to the point you'll be satisfied with either phones.

I had a HTC Diamond and it was fantastic headset but i was missing the keyboard, so i have upgraded to HTC PRO. I have never had HTC PRO in my hand so i am a bit scared of its thickness. Personally i think is always good to have few buttons even on touch screen orientated phone. Can anyone comment on HTC PRO will i regret upgrading from diamond?

You will regret it period. The Pro has severe keyboard problems. I have been through quite a few warranty exchanges due to the keyboard going out, so I upgraded to the Pro 2 and so far have had no problems. Its really top of the line, and if you can upgrade to it, I would. I would try a warranty claim. I got my Pro 2 for free since I was having so many problems with the Pro.

WM6.5 runs absolutely crappy on the original Touch Pro. Given the TP2 has 20meg less RAM as this guy is stating, I can't imagine it being any more usable. Maybe Opera is just a crappy browser but I can't take how sluggish the interface is, and how your selections get backlogged in the CPU's queue, some times it gets so laggy it's unusuable as you accidently select the wrong things.

I had the touch pro 2 last week. Its a badass phone by the looks but the software (Windows Mobile) sucks. It is kind of laggy, like any other windows mobile phone. If this touch pro 2 was android omg it would be the best phone ever!

Had Fuze from ATT intro. Great phone with custom ROM--annoying with stock ATT ROM.
Fast, reliable, good GPS, BT and WIFI performance. Great net radio phone.
Just got the Tilt 2, ATT version of TP2. I LOVE ATT's keyboard layout--dedicated number row is a waste of space. Tons of shortcut keys and common symbols makes email quick and painless.
Bigger keyboard and screen are great. Getting ready to flash the latest custom ROM on this bad boy to get rid of ATT crapware.
If u can afford, great!

One thing that really bothers me about the TP2 is the stylus. After using iPhones for the past year, I don't want to use a stylus, and having one there would just bother me as it's a piece of the phone that could just slip out, but not having it there (and instead, a big hole) would bother me even more.
I have issues, I know. =P

I think still having the stylus is a good OPTION. You dont have to use it. But for Notes, its cool to still be able to scribble something down or draw something out.

my htc touch pro blowed so hard. i went threw like 3 already. Its good as fuck when its operating correctly but when its got issues, its like a chick on her period. You never know whats gonna happen. I wish someone could come out with a reliable phone with no glitches for once. This video has definitely made me decide not to get the TP2 -- the magnetic stylus was necessary & every camera should have flash. I've ruined some of the greatest pictures because my phone's camera didn't have flash & it's just ridiculous when cameras don't. I also don't know why everyone is complaining the TP1 was slow because mine definitely isn't & my battery life is great (I use it all the time as well). Anyways, if HTC decides to give the TP2 flash & a magnetic stylus I'll totally get it!

i seriously dont think that a magnetic stylus should be the reason not to buy this phone. this phones touch scrreen is MUCH more responsive than the TP1. the touch flo 3d is also new and improved. although i wished it had flash, this is a cell phone. i dosent have everything the world has to offer. besides using a camera is much more effective than a cell phone. the TP1 dosent have flash either.
anyways thats my opinion =]

I'm not sure which TP1 you have, but mine has flash and the magnetic stylus is just a huge bonus. I'm clumsy by nature and need features like that. Yeah, it's definitely upgraded and a whole lot nicer, but it's just not everything I would want. Why buy something that doesn't have everything I want when there are phones that do? :) I appreciate your input though.

So, it's not a matter of me being stupid - it's a matter of the objects and tools I work around sucking the stylus out of my phone which has happened more times than I can count with phones that have no magnetic stylus. So, next time take the shoes off your teeth and stop running your mouth.

No offense to the dude in the video, but the TP2 batter smashes the tp1 battery. I have had 3 tp1s and all of them only had a 3.5 to 4 hour constant usage battery life, the touch pro 2 easily gets me 10+ hours of non stop usage.
Also, he says the sprint touch pro can get the fm radio and the tp2 cannot. Once again this is bad info, the tp1 could not get the fm radio and is not capable of it, now on the TP2 this is working wonderfully. No offense to him, but he was uneducated. Experience here

Temperbad "no offense" but the Tp1 does has FM radio capability. Also, you might have had better life on your TP2 because of the way you've used it, battery life varies depending on the user, do your research before you go thinking you can tell a phone expert they are "uneducated" ....no offense.

That's called anecdotal evidence and it also happens to be wrong. How long your battery lasts depends on how you use it, and it's easy to install something that drains it more than usual without realizing it. My TP battery lasts plenty of time on MightyROM and FYI the TP2's battery is even bigger.

I have had three of them and the battery in all mine have sucked too. Would never buy this phone again because of that reason alone - and it's no fluke because I've had to trade it in twice because of keyboard issues.

What's up with the lack of a camera flash? The HTC G1, HTC Magic, nor the HTC Mytouch have them. And just to clarify it up. T-Mobile has the TouchPro 2 and Sprint will have the HTC Hero. The software for Hero is out, but not the phone. I worked for both companies this month : )

I assume the TP2 in this video is the GSM version? That would explain less battery life, especially if the phone spent more time in idle than in use. CDMA generally has less talk time, more standby time than GSM.
