  • Carry some steel wool and a 9 volt battery. Touch the contacts of the battery to the steel wool and you'll have a fire stated right away. It will BLAZE!

  • So mine arrived today. Took it out and it worked on the second strike. The first time I hit it a little too gentle trying to find the right amount of force to use. I had my wife try it. Totally works as advertised. Guess what my friends are getting for Christmas?

  • I had a chance to see this in thier shop. Its way kewl! I'll be getting one of these. Couldn't believe how light it was.

  • I like your fire piston but i think to make it different then others is to put a small flashlight at the end and have it screw on so that you would still get the storage and so you could pop it off so you don't have to smash the light on the ground making a ember or have a cap over the light. Just a thought but great product

  • keeping the tender away from the side of the cylinder will save your o rings...

  • My numyth came in the mail 2 weeks ago. This is a very high quality product. I get an ember every time using my char cloth. I highly recommend this product. In fact I will be ordering 2 more.

  • im putting a review up tomorow so check it out brother

  • Just ordered mine brother

  • Just received mine. Great quality product. Highly recommend! Looking forward to other Numyth products.

  • @xRhythm Cool, glad you like it.

  • What are the sizes of the included spare o-rings? Thanks!

  • I plan on buying one this weekend!

  • Looks very well designed.

  • This is the highest quality fire piston I have ever seen. I am glad I bought one, and I think it is very well made --it works great. YouTube user "Beast12101" made a quick video about his, which led me to your website. Quick shipping, outstanding product for the money. Five star rating from me, man.

  • @brokor1 Cool, I'm glad you like it.

  • just bought one awsome.

  • Got my Vulcan in over the weekend. Works great, get an ember every time. Much thanks for releasing a quality, affordable fire piston onto the market!

  • @shadowangelx I'm glad you like it. We have a bunch of new stuff planned for release as soon as we can get it out.

  • I would like to see this as a flashlight/firepiston combo. You have the shape. All you would need is a few LEDs and some button batteries! Just an idea! Feel free to use it but if you do let me do a free product demo of it!

  • congratulations....i am buying this tommorow.-Nick

  • this thing looks legit awesome. good job.

  • Love Going Gear! Love Marshall videos. Congrats on the new business. Can't Wait to see new products from Numyth. Fire Piston looks cool. Would prefer to see products Made in USA.

  • @sobek7770 I couldn't get anyone in the US to make a working sample where the retail price would be less than $80. I'll try again with the next batch.

  • this seems like its based off your maglight piston you made a while ago but looks like a really nice product

  • @fire1169101 You can do it either way. I just see more consistent performance with more rapid compression, which is easier to do if you smack it. You have to have more of your weight over the piston if you are shoving it down.

  • Awesome Marshall!!! Congratulations on your new company and the very first item being sold! Very exciting! I wish you all the best with this new endeavour and hope GoingGear continues to be a big success!

  • How much does the whole thing weigh? Nice design and congrats on starting up NuMyth!

  • when are you getting more 4sevens quark turbo x flashlights

  • @350CHEVY2323 1-2 weeks, according to 4Sevens.

  • when are you getting more 4sevens quark turbo x flashlights

  • this is awesome! it reminded me of your homemade minimag lite fire piston. awesome product!

  • Always great to see somebody starting a company!

I know you have your heart set on all sorts of gear and that you know your stuff and that makes me think your company will have quite some success!

Best luck for your future and keep those vids coming! Love 'em! :)

    Greetings from a German fan!

  • Cool product. I wonder if I could make something with household materials like a paper towel soaked in something to ignite. Anyway, will Numyth have flashlights?

  • Neat.

  • Good luck with the company!

keep slamming home these thorough reviews and im sure business will come :)

  • good luck with your company, man... I'm looking forward to trying some of your products.

  • Congrats on the new company, looks great

  • @JMYock Thanks, that was the idea. I went through about 10 prototypes before settling on this design. Knowing me, the next batch will have some minor tweaks as well. :)

  • nice tool.

  • That's frigging TIGHT man. I tried making one myself, never could get it to work right. Awesome job!

  • a traditional version of this fire piston is called "gobek api" comes from Malaysia...made form hard wood or buffalo horn..same way to used it..

  • looks like a mini maglite. in size and shape. why did you choose this as your first product. it seems like something difficult to use for a fire. i would think your first product mightve been something everyone could use. but i guess the outdoorsman is your target audience and most can use it.

  • @PavlovSandor It is like a Mini Maglite. One of the first videos I made was where I turned a Maglite into a fire piston, and that was the inspiration for this. It wasn't supposed to be the first product. It was just the first one that was ready.

  • Is it just me? I keep staring at the hair on your forearms. It is kinda distracting....

  • @ustfu I'll shave before the next one.
