  • Thanks so much for posting this! I was sick today and had to finish reading for English, and this helped a lot. Thanks again!

  • WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VOICE OF DONALD SUTERLAND!?

    &Thank you VERY MUCH.

    「ありがとうございました」!!

  • Such a fantastic play...all too sad, though :'[

  • Wonderful

  • Thank you so much for posting.

  • Do you know which film company produced this movie? I would like to contact them and see if there is someway I can obtain a good quality DVD of this. Or is there some other way I can obtain a good quality DVD?

  • The producer was Michael Luke. One of his daughters told me that they are trying to get the film re-relased, but for the time being no good quality copy is available.

  • This is how I like my ancient Greek tragedies performed: Decent costumes, capable actors, fitting scenery and good music! I wish more of the ancient plays of the great theatre triad (Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides) would be thus adapted for the cinema or television! A complete works edition like the one the BBC made for the works of Shakespeare would be nice! But Greece is bankrupt at the moment and the classical culture lost and forgotten in Europe at the moment.

  • Great movie!! Thank you very much i really enjoyed it;

  • Thanks a lot! I felt the power of Greek drama by watching it, the shocking power of a tragic hero, from the peak fallen to the abyss. thank you for bringing us such precious film.

  • thank you

  • I LOVED IT! You are a true officionado of Christopher Plummer's theatrical talent. I actually first learned about Oedipus Rex from this production when I was only nine but was intrigued (I was a very unusual child!) Thank you for placing this on youtube so that it may accompany my repetoire. EFKHARISTOUMAI APO TO KOSMO (Gr. Thank you from the world!)

  • You are welcome. I'm glad you liked it. You were lucky! I think I first learned about this play from my Greek teacher, and it wasn't that exciting... CP would have been a far better teacher.

  • Antigone is at the very heart of our fundamental principles
