This song, nor history will ever fully tell the pain that Black people suffered in the South, North and most of America, but I feel it. I recently learned of the Hog Jail in Tillery, North Carolina. The Johnson Plantation had a jail where my enslaved ancestors were placed for 1 or 2 weeks at a time. It was made of thick logs and my ancestors were tied up while a giant hog trampled on his body until the time of release. He would be whipped many times before entering. This was light punishment.
@123tonloc I remembered this song for most of my life!!!! I heard it in the early 70's when I was a kid and just always thought there some really bad blood there!!!
