What the fuck does it matter? Yea, Four Year Strong does play it in D standard but his version sounds almost exact and it's pretty good. So if he wants to play it in drop D, let him! It sounds good.

I've Been playing fouryear strong songs on my guitar four two years. I know tht they play in drop d. Even my guitar teacher agrees

Who cares if they play in D-standard? It's the same notes in Drop D... just an easier way of playing it ; and don't say that notes sounder "heavier" in D standard. Play a D5 in D standard and Drop, same thing. Just cause FYS does, doesn't mean you need to.
