Whenever I want a good performance Christmas song with such meaning, I go to this site to hear Carrie perform this song. Even though vocally, it was obvious she was sick, the emotion and honesty behind it was brilliant.

They should really start calling this program Grand Ole Carrie cause 40 years down the line that's what people are gonna be calling her.. Carrie wouldn't stay home, even though she was sick. They came to hear her and she doesn't want to disappoint her fans, and she won't use that as excuse, even though would forgive. Most of her fans in her audience probably came from quite a distance and are there for her and only her concert. I think she forgets she is sick when starts singing, though I couldn't even tell she was sick until read in this comments section.

Her voice was hoarse and giving out and she even mentioned on stage that she was losing her voice and that she didn't know how her voice would sound on The first noel but that she would give it a try. And you could hear her voice very congested as she talked. So yes, she was sick or at least her voice was giving out.

The reason I like her better is because a lot of other singers won't even make attempt to sing when they just a little bit sick. Carrie will sing even when she is sick and sound so go, you don't notice that she is sick, only time she doesn't do it, she said before if she realize she could give sickness to her fans, but that's exception rather than the rule for Carrie, which I appreciate a lot of her for being that way.

This is normal, Carrie gives an excellent performance, even with a cold, amazing, even though its Opry, a lot of singers would excuse themselves and said unable to sing because of a cold, but Carrie doesn't do that and audience really appreciates that, they came that night to hear and gives an incredible performace that don't know she has a cold. WOW!
Yeah i totally agree and it's probably because of her love for her fans so much and all of us love her! She's one of the best singers of our time (in my opinion) hope she feels better sooooon!
I think her fans know she is going to do something like these, from all the times watching her, she has never excuses for not performing and usually she's not late either, which I give credit, I think a lot of times, either her manager will say don't because you're not up to par or even her mother say that. She'll suffer with the pain, so her fans aren't disaappointed, which amazes more about her than anything else.
She was soooo good. I felt bad for her, she looked like she was in pain. But omg the definition of a great performer and singer. Wow is all i can say, prob the best show with 3 of my fav singers

Wow. No respect for someone who is so sick and has no voice, yet STILL, for her FANS, performs, risking messing up her voice even more. When I lose my voice, I don't sing and I don't talk. Yet Carrie gets up there, and just for her fans who love her and paid to see her, she sings anyway.
Get a life, seriously, and have some respect. I don't see you being so brave as to get up on the Opry stage, sick with no voice, and belting out a song.
She sounds pretty damn amazing for not having a voice.

Make it stop - again off tune off pitch. Poor Carrie she is nothing but a poor man's version of Martina Mcbride. At least Martina Mcbride is able to sing - in tune and brings style and grace to Country music. Ouch - there it goes again at 1:58 off tune! Please make it stop!

when i have a cold i bundle up in sweaters and blankets...i dont put on a micro mini and belt out high notes. sounds good, looks good, go Carrie. if it was me though...folks would be saying "where she at?" becuz I would be home being sick.

Carrie wouldn't stay home, even though she was sick. They came to hear her and she doesn't want to disappoint her fans, and she won't use that as excuse, even though would forgive. Most of her fans in her audience probably came from quite a distance and are there for her and only her concert. I think she forgets she is sick when starts singing, though I couldn't even tell she was sick until read in this comments section.

Carrie had a cold as you could hear her coughing between the verses of the First Noel on the radio broadcast - She's amazing here - this is beautiful! the band is amazing as well

Her voice was hoarse and giving out and she even mentioned on stage that she was losing her voice and that she didn't know how her voice would sound on The first noel but that she would give it a try. And you could hear her voice very congested as she talked. So yes, she was sick or at least her voice was giving out.

She is sick and she can still hit all those notes. Like at 3:17 and 3:28 lol. There are people who couldn't sing like her even if they were 110% lol. Also, I love her dress. I think she looks gorgous.

The reason I like her better is because a lot of other singers won't even make attempt to sing when they just a little bit sick. Carrie will sing even when she is sick and sound so go, you don't notice that she is sick, only time she doesn't do it, she said before if she realize she could give sickness to her fans, but that's exception rather than the rule for Carrie, which I appreciate a lot of her for being that way.

I just saying that Carrie did a job even with a cold, if nobody would have mention, I wouldn't realize it. That's how good she is. Doesn't even sound like she's straining her voice to sing. Of course, she did like a lot of people, once they start, they forget they got a cold.

This is normal, Carrie gives an excellent performance, even with a cold, amazing, even though its Opry, a lot of singers would excuse themselves and said unable to sing because of a cold, but Carrie doesn't do that and audience really appreciates that, they came that night to hear and gives an incredible performace that don't know she has a cold. WOW!

I think her fans know she is going to do something like these, from all the times watching her, she has never excuses for not performing and usually she's not late either, which I give credit, I think a lot of times, either her manager will say don't because you're not up to par or even her mother say that. She'll suffer with the pain, so her fans aren't disaappointed, which amazes more about her than anything else.
