My stepbrother had the 45 in around 1970 or 1971, but has since lost it. Garrison Keillor used to have a copy in his record library, and may still have it. This is a great record and a great tune.
I can confirm that I met Budd Lewandowski at the NY World Fair in 64 or 65. Probably 1965. He had a stand at the fair and was selling Rufus Lumley 45s.
I bought Minnesota that day. Actually my father bought it for me. I was only about 9 years old. I didnt know that anyone else had even heard of him. I got the impression that Budd thought that Rufus was going to be the next Elvis. I still have the 45.
@phonebooker2 Rufus is my Dad, he was a great singer and had a lot of fun making these songs. He's no longer with us. Glad you enjoyed the tune, vr dave lumley
Hi, I had heard that this 45 was released to promote an Expo/Worlds Fair type thing in the 60's, but can't find anything on t'internet to confirm. Anyone able to confirm that?
