Personally, I like TLK2 a bit more than the first one too, mainly because I'm a big Kiara & Kovu fan, hehe. I find their story sooo lovely and romantic, and they're both so cute when they're together :3

However, I must admit that the first one was a better movie, not only for the soundtrack (I'm also a Hans Zimmer fan) but also for the animation quality, the landscapes, the backgrounds,... you know

But anyway, it's hard to compare them, because they just have different storylines. "The Lion King" is about responsibilities and facing one's past, while "Simba's Pride" is about family and 'love conquers all'. So there'e no need to say if one is better than the other :)
