@MrTurboparrot nevermind - I think I got it now: pretty sure its E harmonic minor, starting on the 12th fret E, hammer-on to the G (skipping the F#) and pull-off to open string - repeat this pattern (skipping the middle note) all the way up and down the neck - add some speed, a strat, a muff, a wh10 wah, the soul of frusciante, and you're home free!
