  • Blight means to boil harm or destroy, which can meen in this episode, that august spoiled or destroyed the chance she was going I die. Or that he saved her from Being killed or destroyed. Its also a skin diZease or something right? Which can meen in the next episode some one has a weired skin deazeas. Idk. I didn't want august to die though

  • This was excellent. Thank you so much for doing it.

  • What pocket watch is that?

  • i watch this show at fringeonline . org

  • i watch this show at fringeonline . org

  • This is the best episode EVER!!!!

  • Ok I'm 40 so I don't get the end part soooo i'll just ask what's up with the Today show ending and who's that guy that the woman r going crazy over????

  • i hoped you would say, that the observers are not really on the old paintings (I checked them on google xD )

  • In the Episode 10: "Grey Matter". Newton said something about his side... Something called "the blight". It may has something to do with code in this episode.

  • Is it just me, or is Astrid a babe?

  • when the episode 9 it comming up? i cant wait for the recap

  • lol fat observer

  • i loved this episode. it was soooo awesome!! this waas by far the best episode besides bound

  • it looks like the names of the hotels were crossed out in the second shot, but not the first on the recap.

great job, josh, by the way. you have added a whole new level of enjoyment to fringe for me

  • I saw an observer while watching a Washington Redskins football game on tv last season!!!

  • hey josh im from venezuela im a big fan of fringe... can you tell me what was the last episode that has been released in the USA over here there has been only 8 episodes and i think the 9th episode is going to be released on january

  • does any episode shows peter get kidnapped by the observer????

  • i think the clue for the next episode is the snake looking thing on the right side of the observers binoculars in the begining....since the next episode is snakehead

  • Tonights episode of Fringe was really good, cant wait for the recap

  • I've brought this up before, but I've only just remembered the episode the name was seen before. The name Dr Peretti, in The Dreamscape, was seen in Mark Young's notebook. Casey Peretti was a name on one of the graves in The Arrival.

  • isn't that roller coaster (in playland vancouver) the oldest in North America? Correct me if I'm wrong lol...

  • has fringe finished for Christmas? if so does anyone know when its back?

  • Hey,

in season one, david robert jones gave oliva this puzzle thing where she had to turn of lights with her mind... in this epsiode he said that oliva would have to do 12 more tasks like this... now that he's dead what about the other tasks???? Just a thought......

  • Hello !!!!!

    Thanks for the Recap.

    I have a small Request.

Can you please write the Season Number along with Episode Number as sometimes recap for both the season are mixed up.

    Thanks :)

  • this was the best episode of the season. howd u know his name was august

  • They say his name multiple times in the episode.

  • now this is what we're used to.

  • ur right this was an awesome episode. keep up the good work

  • dude i LOVE your videos!!

you should get millions of views cause your funny :)

  • Well, thank you for beautiful and detailed recap! This is the first I saw but I am going to see the other ones!

There are so many old and new questions unanswered!

I liked the old dot printer.. where was it plugged? Why is all the technology from the other reality soo old-fashioned (not only technology :)

I still love the Nina-Altered States connection - the tank, the name Jessup, alternate reality.. WOW! Blair Brown was a good choice!

And why are they always spilling water in Mas.D.? :D

  • Some of it is old fashioned, but some of it is super futuristic, like a cell phone like device that initiates mind control, their blaster guns, etc.

  • at the end while Ella and Olivia are on the rollercoaster. one of the Observers says something like "look at her smiling and things are about to get so hard for her" I wonder if he was talking about Ella.. I doubt it though since Olivia was smiling during the ride... just a thought.. I also noticed that the observers clothes in the closet were dark colors much like Oliva's, Perter's and the others treated with cortexaphan. any thoughts on that?

  • Yeah, to be honest I didn't catch the Ella thing, but it's certainly possible that they meant her and she will be a more important part of the show. I think this is the first time we've seen her this season so maybe. I don't know about the clothes; seems like a coincidence to me. But you never know.

  • I have watched that end clip 4 times, still can't find them. Are they behind Matt Lauer there?

  • Comment removed

  • Yes. One is just behind where he moves his head. The other is to the right of that one.

  • I suspect that Ella might actually be Olivia's child... Is there a hint of that?

'Cause that scene with Olivia in the car telling Peter how she was so excited with her mom, as if she is hoping the same thing for Ella as a mom.

As always, great recap, thorough coverage.

But like someone previously commented, I don't get Donald with the knife trick. I thought he is a normal person who live in this universe. So he shouldn't have special power.

  • Thanks again for the great recap.

This episode was really good. I actually got intrigued by the observer names and thought it was really interesting how they showed us the observers can feel even if that´s not normal for them.

  • Thanks so much for the recap.

  • The observer reminds me of the tourist guy of death. Both show up on important historical events ;-)

  • Also, these recaps are such an exciting and insightful addition to the show. Seriously, I love Fringe but watching these really enriches the experience, makes me look forward to new episodes more. Keep up the great work, Josh! You are an invaluable asset to the Fringe community!

  • Thank you so much!

  • You are so halarious!!

"flying to canada just for a ride"...hahaha

  • I couldn't see the Observer in the end clip. Maybe that's someone's way of reminding us that Twilight is absolutely inconsequential crap and should be disregarded as the pap that is.

  • There is a comb on the sink in August´s apartment. What the hell does he need a comb for?? :))

  • Yeah seriously. I went back and took a look at that. Very weird.

  • does the clip at the end have the observer? and if it does then is he a diehard twilight fan?

  • It has two observers.

  • and by the way, why did august have to break the car window, when he has the ability to start the car with his finger? wouldnt it be easier to unlock the car the same way?

  • To make it look urgent and add some action to the scene? I have no idea, you've got a great point.

  • Remember cars int the back doors usually don't have for keys

  • But he obviously doesn't need a key.

  • No dough, but he needed (so it seems) to put the finger in the key hole

  • i dont like this love story stuff involving observers. they are just observing cannot have feelings. its really lame. i hope they dont have any more lovey duey stories involving observers anymore.

from what i understand september was always seen at different places stating that only one was here atleast in US. but now there are many implying there is something big going on

    OR

Observers are actually mind controlled by Bell and gathering info to change the reality in the 2nd universe?

  • I dont think they are mind controlled by Bell, why would they look the same then? I agree with your first theory, that they are here because the two universes are going to collapse (as nina showed with the snowglobes)

  • The best thing is for them not to have feelings, they see so many things, they know what is truly horrible, if they had feelings then they would get more involved

  • Didn't show the upcoming preview?

  • I thought he would talk about the man that gave the Pin to August, that must have ment something

  • I thought so, but I couldn't think of anything to how it related.

  • Two things come to mind, 1) just to show that observers are not always unnoticed by the public and may have some normal interaction if provoked, or 2) He says that, I don't have any money, that may indicate that the observers have help somehow, they eat without money, have a house, etc,

  • Perhaps, they do somekind of Mind Control?

  • Comment removed

  • Nothing indicates that they use mind control, but they do have access to it (it seems) the way they say the same thing as the other person at the same time

  • #2 raises great questions, but I'm betting on #1 being the thing they wanted us to get from that.

  • Still space and time for theories, (that's what I like) so well see what the purpose was...I'll keep in touch, just never been much of a Commentator

  • She is responsible for August's death, if it wasn't for the sake or her he would have not intervened and would not have let been shot

  • Well it's direct vs indirect responsibility. She is responsible indirectly, but not that different from saying the universe is responsible for having killed him because it created the conditions for the possibility of his death. Who is directly responsible is Donald (or if he's under mind control then the observers).

  • I have nothing to tell me that he is under mind control, I just think is one person that they have contact with, knowing that he does good his job (10 Years), and I understand your point, she was indirectly the cause, but non the less a cause

  • I'm not so sure that the observer was talking about olivia at the end of the episode he could have been talking about ella and some role she might end up playing in the pattern later on.

  • Quite right. That would be a nice twist wouldn't it?

  • one of the observers was eating a popsicle at the end

  • Yes, and it was red, almost as if he squirted tabasco sauce all over it.

  • awsome episode but you forgot to mention how fatty donald the chubby assassin found the numbers in the phone book

  • Yeah, what was that? You mean the knife trick huh?

  • I would assume that it is because the phonebook was left open on that page for an extended period of time. It would make it easier for Donald to find, like when you bend the spine of a novel and it flips to that page anytime you let it drop open. Maybve a bit of stretch for a HUGE phonebook, but he had to find an address somehow :D

  • what are the congratulations for at the end?

  • If you get it, you might just get the congrats.

  • ...one of the few episodes i found the observer by myself

  • I loved this episode! Best one of season 2 so far! I was getting teary in the scene where August was describing his feelings (which he's not meant to have lol).

  • I think it was the best episode so far in Season 2
