@Fis10n 'riding on the roof' happens only in a couple of places in India, so please don't take one incident and generalize it for the whole country. Your American trains are of a higher standard because the passenger train density there is very small compared to India AND the population is much lesser.

@nikosjk1 Thank you. :) Travelling in/on locomotives is not allowed here either, but the loco pilots allow people to board them as a helpful gesture. If there are no passenger trains at a given time, then the only alternative is to walk the 15km from Castle Rock station, or to board a freight train like this. :D Loco pilots who don't allow people on the locos usually let them board the caboose. :)

@bharath94ir Thanks :D The Amaravathi express was running very late that day and we were getting roasted in the hot sun so when this consist came to a halt at Dudhsagar one of us asked the ALP if we could get a ride till Kulem, and he said yes :D Pure luck :D
