Well I guess its really a different lifestyle... If you basing you movie decisions on the price of the ticket, you should probably stay home. Movie tickets are like 15$ each but 3D movies are still free if you know where to get them on the web. Watch the Olympics in 3D and tell me that it isnt worth the features. The studio working on the conversion is called 'Stereo D' and if you looked them up, it's the geniuses behind Avatar's visuals. They showed Shyamalan some footage of the conversion and he was impressed.

As seen in interviews, James Cameron agrees with you. He ripped on Clash's conversion, said conversion on orders of the studio is BS, and it should be the director's decision only, and used from the start. The only exception having a long time for conversion, and a skilled team.
Since he's the reason for the newest 3D craze, studios would listen to him. But instead of looking at WHY Avatar's 3D was well-received, they see "2.7 billion gross" and "3D" in the same sentence, and order conversions.
I think my fav video was the one about the pick-up lines cuz, apart from being very funny, it really made me wonder if they work or not... I've been asking all of my friends what they think about it since I watched your video xD I'll reach a conclusion soon :P
I too think that 3D can be cool, if done right. It's really just the stupid, greedy studio execs that see what's trendy to do with films and just decide to add that in the last minute to their films, just to have a few extra bucks from everyone, and at the same time doing a disservice to the film's quality. Those who are blaming Avatar for this new craze are dead wrong. What we have to blame is corporate greed and short-sightedness that still plague many big-name studios.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up. The only thing we can do now is NOT PAY FOR AIRBENDRER IN 3D! That's the only thing we can do to show them not to do 2D to 3D conversions.
Whoever came up with the idea of conversions should die of cancer while being mauled by a bear on fire. Yeah, a flaming bear would be extra pissed off, too.

As seen in interviews, James Cameron agrees with you. He ripped on Clash's conversion, said conversion on orders of the studio is BS, and it should be the director's decision only, and used from the start. The only exception having a long time for conversion, and a skilled team.
Since he's the reason for the newest 3D craze, studios would listen to him. But instead of looking at WHY Avatar's 3D was well-received, they see "2.7 billion gross" and "3D" in the same sentence, and order conversions.

I too think that 3D can be cool, if done right. It's really just the stupid, greedy studio execs that see what's trendy to do with films and just decide to add that in the last minute to their films, just to have a few extra bucks from everyone, and at the same time doing a disservice to the film's quality. Those who are blaming Avatar for this new craze are dead wrong. What we have to blame is corporate greed and short-sightedness that still plague many big-name studios.
