@MegaCrazycatt Read the book and it will show that the author interviwed and researched the past. My point is Dan's brother and an attorney friend of Linda were the consultants of the movie. That's why the movie is so biased against her. Perahps if betty had had a shouilder to cry on sooner, it might not have gone so far. I don't justify her.. but i don't think she'd hurt again.

Its 20 years later and she was just up for parole; and she STILL is carrying on about how it was all Dan and Linda's fault tha Betty shot them, so she's obviously still bitter about things, and part of the deal of her being paroled is she is supposed to 1) accept responsibility for what she has done and 2) show remourse for; which she won't. In January her parole was denied because she did not show remorse or acknowledge wrongdoing and she won't be eligible for another parole hearing for 15 years,but, she could reapply in three years if she makes progress.

I went through a bad divorce,which I inniciated (sp). I can understand Bettys position. She was up against a lawyer, she had nowhere to go. And she ends up in prison,God help our justice system. She might have been a bit loopy, but I can totally understand, really wanted to kill my ex, too. The only reason my ex is still alive is he wasnt a lawyer. I ended up beating him in court, Betty had no chance.

Actually, she came up for parole this past January, but was denied. She was told that she still has anger and that she needs to move on. Several articles have stated that she will come up for parole again within fifteen years or three more years, if she starts showing progress and eliminates her anger.

She was given a life sentence, with a possibility of parole after 32 years. 2010 was the first year she was eligible to apply for parole, and she did--it was denied, therefore she is still in prison and will continue to be unless parole is granted. I believe the next time she comes up for parole is 2013.

Betty has to stay in there because she is far too famous, there would be a hue and cry if they released her, and she is her own worst enemy by refusing to apologize or show regret, she has doomed herself and that is a shame because I do not believe she is in any way a danger. If only she had had some self control and not been so ruled by her emotions, she could have won and gotten revenge on Dan legally. That is a real shame.

It really is a shame how this all happened. If her goal was to seek revenge there were so many other avenues where she could have gotten even by playing the victim to his infidelity and milking him dry of his income. His character would have suffered among his collegues had she just focused on getting on with her life and being a good mother. No doubt he fed on her sanity in his quest to get what he wanted and she should have realized that was his game plan.

I am against having sex with another's partner. Even if the relationship is a sham, if you cheat on your partner before the divorce is final, they are likely to cheat on you this time down the line. But , 21 is still easily seduciable, especially before everything available on the net . I dont think she should stay locked up forever but I do think the parole board should stay on top of her and her mental recovery. They should watch her like a hawk..... Her children were a temper gauge for both parents and should talk to the professionals if she is let out. They were the ones that knew when their father and mother were getting out of control.
