This hack CAN be played savestateless.

The tester for it tested it without savestates, and the first message box of the second one even says:

Easy Challenge: Beat with Savestaes

Normal Challenge: Beat using only a few savestates

Manly Challenge: Beat savestatless

or something along those lines.

Kaizo World is an extra hard ROM hack of Super Mario World. As far as I know, you can only play it using emulation such as ZSNES. Hell, you probably would need emulation to beat this because this shit is extra hard (you will die a million deaths) and you will certainly need the Save, Load, and Rewind features to get through.

And as Arekai suggested, you can search for this davidandrewheath on Youtube. I was like HOLY SHIT!!! when I saw his vids. He made the game look so easy. :/
