I had one that failed. I replaced an orange ceramic timing resonator (a type of crystal) and it worked but at the wrong speed/pitch. When I got the correct frequency one it worked normally. It would be interesting to substitute this part with a selector switch of different frequency components to get even more widely varying sounds and effects. Circuit bending is a great way to produce electronic music! This is a great example. :o)
