I had to do some research after seeing this as I have never seen a Peruvian Black Widow before.She is a beauty.

Why do all you ARACHNOPHBICS have to be so naive about spiders, and what they mean to the ecosystem? Spiders are great and I can tell you right now, that if it weren't for all the spiders in the world, you'd be complaining even more because there would be way too many insects. Well I know the black widow lays around 200 eggs at a time...of course not all of these will reach a mature age, and many will die off. But enough to expand their population. And unless you live in Laos, there's no worry to need about this spider. :)

I totally agree with you concerning the beauty of this spider. However, the latrodectus sp laos remains pretty rare to find in captivity and so are the informations about it.

OMG that is gorgeous!! My Latrodectus menavodi does that same bouncing thing when disturbed. That is one of the prettiest widows I have ever seen!
