if the damn tickets didn't cost so much maybe more people would try to find what Lutoslawski ,boulez ,Stravinsky or at least the harmony old fashioned stuff of Les six or Rachmaninoff. There are ways to get peeps into great music.Outdoors would help.I think the powers that be wanna keep us niggers dumb.Sciarrino has just opened up a whole new world of composition but what do u fooking learn in American schools.I taught english for a while&poorest nations in da world have better education.
@lovesGenet Americans live in a magic show where they arrogantly don't need to understand anything, or get into forms of art which have any whiff of the unfamiliar. Hence the "Elitist" charge of the TEA Party against us liberals.

i was in CFC last year and i had to sing this song too!! for al of my cfc buddies in youtube land this is amanda. i hated learning this song because of how long it was and how repetitive it was... but in the end it was amazing! if you ever have to sing this i feel for you LOL
I know this Guy. Anybody in CFC out there this is Connor. That was such a tough piece. I've never counted so much more in my life! Not even in Math... If anybody does this piece i will pray for you because it sound really good once you get past all the emotion and rhythm it is really truly powerful and just wonderful to sing. Put that on your resume.
The pittsburgh symphony just did a concert with him and I was in the children's chorus in this song! It is a hard song but the ending result was breathtaking.
I had this wonderful opportunity to meet Mr.John Adams in the hotel where i used to work and where he regularly stays whenever he's in London.I didn't have any idea who he was until one time,by chance,i saw his cd in a record shop.I searched for his name on google and youtube and you could imagine my reaction when i found out more about him. He's such a gentleman and a favorite hotel guests.
He's daring to call his own nation "narcissists" and even point out that they consider their loss the greatest, while other nationalities are experiencing a much greater loss...But he is really being honest and exposing his international soul!!!
In all actuality, he's right. There's still MASS genocides happening all over the world, and we hang onto this attack like it was the "end all. be all" of the world. I do agree, that his honesty is to be commended.
Ditto on the great interview, but I think that has to do more with the fact that John Adams is an amazing composer. I hope I am not alone in saying this but I believe that John Adams is a gem among many substandard composers. He will go down in the history books as one of the greatest composers to have lived in the past 100 years or more.
Brilliant interview! would love to hear your concerts in person rather than checking them out of the library in suburban Philly. - Ruth Z Deming, perpetual fan
Thanks for writing, Tara. Just picked up some great tunes from your list of favorites! Regards on this Thursday before Tuesday's Election Day. I think our man will win!!! Perhaps John Adams will write a piece in honor of our first black president.
I thought he was dead
