Whats wrong with you, you should love your wife to the end, well even after that. Yes its all girly hormones and women periods but give them some love, some calm and time off, probably back away a bit and let them be on there own, and when she comes, comfort her no matter what she said, well maybe, i would back off if starts throwing knifes and everything, and come back later and say why. I guess its always why, why, why with a girl, it in their biology, they cant help it.
