@miamad everyone knows that, they're not a rip off artist, but Noel used other peoples riffs and melodies when he started writing because the only people that would hear would be about 10 people in a bar or club they played in. Real Oasis songs they got their name for like Live forever aren't rip offs
I dont know why but Liam signing live now, sounds like he's shouting all the time. No wonder they've lost a lot of popularity. I used to be a great fan. Back then, he sounded much better. Give me all the negatives you like, but he sounds fucking fantastic here.
The third verse is different to what was actually released. It's normally "Mr Sifter sold me sounds when I was just sixteen...." Anyone know why this is? There also a story that Noel actually wrote the third verse on the way to the recording studio going past Mr Sifter's
Everybody knows this already. Including the band, Noel wrote this before they had a label, and McGee told him to use it even tho he knew it was a rip off. So suckadick
Yeah the third verse is different because it hadn't been written when this session was recorded. They played this version live a lot but for the album they needed a third verse. On the way to the studio they passed Sifter's record shop, then stopped at traffic lights. Noel wrote it there and then. This session sounds superb.
amazing i agree with you

Search youtube... put in "I would like to teach the world to sing" Fucking rip off artists, oasis.

@miamad They never claimed to be anything else. Noel freely admits he ripped the song off from the one you mention.

It's taking the piss out of 'I'd Like To Teach The World TO Sing'. You know, from that old coke advert? It sounds just like this.

Is that the line that got them sued so they now "all drink Pepsi"?
cummindb 4 years ago
No, it's the whole song I think. There is a Coca Cola song that's pretty the same melody and lyrics.
Endstation 4 years ago
They sing now we all drink pepsi BeCauSe they got sued by coke.
Have a listen to I'd Like to teach the world to sing, its basically the same melody.
