But let's think about a human being flying at 4o mph through the air and into a 3 ft. pool, would this not kill him or at least break a few bones?...just does not seem possible He would hit the bottom of that pool so hard it would knock him unconscious for sure!

Maybe it is fake, but not for any of the reasons listed below. But let's suppose for a moment it is genuinely real. It's possible they did this stunt. Perhaps they used some object with the same mass as that guy's body and dropped it down the slide until they perfectly set the pool and it's platform at the precise destination that it or he was going to land and then he performed the stunt himself. I don't think ILM had anything to do with it.

Why it's fake

1) first of - Is it sane at all to do it for real?

2) the guy dissapears right before he shoots off the ramp.

3) the pool doesn't seem to be aligned with the ramp.

I strongly believe there are two ramps. The guy brakes and stops behind the ramp in the foreground, and from then on theres a cgi guy (it's not that hard to make in a computer). Then you have a guy (or the same guy) come up from the pool, and everyone is in awe.

Cuts can be invisible if you have the skills.
