Hi Sam, Im sure the comment is getting old but still......amazing skills my friend. Had to join and make you aware if your not already, was watchin you play that tune and said hey! I know this tune is Lucille but with out the lyrics I realized its actually a tune called Huckle-Buck twist from a vintage vinyl from Bill Blacks Combo circa 1950. I used to crank it as a kid on my fathers Grundeug. Thank you again, you brought back some good memories.
Just received CCR DVD ........ Very Nice I'm going to Susie-Q my wife right out of the house tonight. Thanks for the great vids as well. Is there a way to buy that Lucille backing track from you? This is sweeeet.
Dude, you Rock/Roll/Rip/Swing/Shuffle/and Inspire! Like others before me have mentioned, I too find it (relatively) easier to try and learn from your vids. I found you about a month ago, and have since got stuck in again, got the amp out of the storage, and am currently Trying to impress my wife and make my 15 year old son Jealous!!! I don't know how much success I'm having either way! Thanks for your help!
I have many favorites of your cover's Sam, its hard to say which one I like the best since there all so good, but this one ranks way up on the top for sure!!!!! I don't think I have enough time left in my life to learn how to play this one.
Like one friend (at least I hope so...nowadays) from the Netherlands said before in a post: Again a great and very joyful video to watch from Sam - who more and more gets a real institution in my guitar and music life! Thanks so much for all your inspiring videos! Great feel, tune and versatility! Greetings from a German wanna-be-guitarist! You really make me look poor...and I enjoy it very much! :-)
@Caligula0057 - You're welcome. I had my first student over yesterday. I was very impressed when he started playing this for me. He learned it by watching this video.
Around midnight, The Netherlands, Europe. My day was crap... but again I found another fantastic post from Sam. You made my day dude ;-). Keep on posting please! Again another fav. Peace to you all.
As much as I like your Stones stuff, I think this is my fav of the bunch. The shear rawness of it. If this kinda thing doesn't getcha moving, then your dead. Love that thumpa thumpa sound at 2:05. Fantastic.
@kolbpilot - I will be posting my last video for quite a while this weekend. When I return later this year, I'm going to get back to more of just me and the backing tracks.
That lick was stolen right off Chuck Berry's 'London Berry Blues'. Do whatever you have to do to listen that track if you haven't already. It's a goldmine of Chuck treasure.
Your a phenomenal guitar player. My only beef with you is you tell people to just learn it like you did. The majority of us don't have your talent to do that. That is the gift you have, I can pick up pieces and appreciate your generosity to share your talent with us.
Mine can't either...and now that I have corrupted my grandsons, well I think she keeps me around to serve as a bad example. I'm afraid that I may have, somewhat misled her to believe it's mostly the "guitar"...I hope it's good for a Gretsch, before she finds out...that talent may be the missing ingredient.
@MyTwangyGuitar ...by racket, you mean... the music biz... or the noise of your guitars and rock n roll? (Remind her that your girlfriends are just planks of wood, not flesh and blood... maybe that will help?! LOL)
Excellent!!! Well done!!! Lucille is my favorite Little Richard song. I love the boogie figure. It has a dark sound to it that I attribute to the 9th that is included in the figure. I also love the sax solo which I believe was composed and originally played by the late Lee Allen. The only thing that I would have done different is I would have kept the original ending. Great job none the less!
Pete Anderson is a *major* influence and most of his lead work is above my skill level. That's why he's famous and I'm making YouTube videos. Thanks for asking!
Hands down the best guitarist on you tube! Thanks for posting your songs!
