  • I think the problem is that night shift f**ks with your hormones - and then you make crap decisions to bring you back up. I have the same problem. I do nights at a hospital, run off my butt, don't eat at night, then get home, sleep and try to catch up with food. It screws with your metabolism for sure. I think the key would be continuing to drink lots of water at night, healthy snacks....I'll be here to support you if you want (if it's still a problem).

  • Cat, You can back on track and you will. Think about all the things coming up in the next few months. Starting the new year off on a positive note. I know that this is going to be another year where my New Years Res, will be to lose weight...but the good thing is, I will be saying this time, to continue to lose. We have begun and we will go through these down times....but you have to get back up and fight! Go Cat! I know you can do it! Get back on that horse!

  • I have been feeling very similar feeling to you lately. You feel like you want to change but when push comes to shove you eat the bad food or don't exercise when you say tomorrow I WILL exercise no excuses.

    I joined TruelyJesses challenge and even though I don't care about winning the prizes I do want to win it!

    If you like were can start messaging each other some how to make sure we are eating good and exercising. Being accountable to someone may help....

  • that is exactly how i feel and exactly what I am doing. TRAV WHAT ARE WE DOING!!! We should start sharing what we eat on a daily basis, just to be accountable and what we did for exercise! there is a website called keep & share we can use, I will send you a message here in a bit with some details!

  • ugh cat! that's been me all week!! No matter what i do i can't get back on track! Even when i think i'm motivated again...I'm not. For me I just have to do as much as I can when I'm not motivated and know that if I keep working on it that fire will come back. This whole week I've been killing myself trying to get back on track and while I haven't been doing great at least I haven't been doing TERRIBLE. Just trudge through as best you can and know you'll be motivated again!

  • I know! like yesterday, had a great day, today, okay day but i ate a cookie! WHAT THE HECK! I know the fire will come back, TO BOTH OF US!! It has to. We have come so far in this. I need to find things that truly motivate me. Like 100%. And make a video! :)

  • Very cool showing you working, that shift must be hard, even though I'm a night owl I couldn't work those late shifts because I'd do the same thing you are, nocturnal all week long! Just try de-stressing and refocusing on weightloss, long term benefits outweigh your short term pain to lose it! I dunno, I'm struggling also Cat but I hope it helps hehe

  • i absolutely hatttteee that shift. I had to do it a couple days just to help out. such a horrible time to work.  I need to destress. go get a massage, something! It helps a lot logan! thank you so much dollface! <3

  • Here are my tips for you:

    I have a friend who I REALLY love and respect. I write down EVERYTHING I eat and at the end of my week we trade food journals and write in eachother's for the next week before we trade back... it goes back and forth.

    Stick with it! I know when I'm exhausted (which sounds like you are) I try to get more sleep and cut ALL SUGARY CRAPPY CARBS!! They are what I reach for when I'm tired/stressed and instead I eat more fruit....

    YOU CAN DO IT!!

  • Hey Girl. Stay strong! I feel the same way, I have been trying to stay on track like all year... and have gained weight. oy. Anyway. If you ever want to workout with someone just let me know! I am right near by! I might not be able to keep up with you since I weigh like 2x as much as you do.. but I will try!

  • I really want to go walking with you or maybe up to potato creek to take a hike or something!! I would love to have a friend in all of this! lets plan a day next week to go for a walk!

  • Hey Cat, don't lose heart! I think you need to find what your triggers are. I know that when I feel overwhelmed, bored, blahish - I don't want to even think about eating right, especially exercises! I know what works for me is that I but up pictures of me in a swimsuit/tight clothes and motivational poster to myself all around the house. So, in my moment of weakness hopefully I will see those things and it will force me to stop and think. Good Luck!

  • That is such a good idea. I need to find something that will really set me off to know I can't afford to go back to the way I was living. I just can't do it. I would feel awful. I will learn what my triggers are! thanks for the great idea kate!!

  • What is the exact problem? Is it your eating or exercising? Is it over eating or are you not eating much but it's things that are high calorie?

  • Its both! I am not eating right, very high calorie (or low calorie and just ONE huggge calorie meal and thats the only meal I eat) and then just not exercising. It is horrible I know. I just feel like I needed a break. But I am getting back on track slowly but surely! I am writing everything down again, which has helped a lot!

  • I am not great at giving advice and I would just say everything everyone has already said to you. You have so much support on here, surely everyone on YouTube is motivating you a little. Stay strong Cat. :) x

  • I would say to find a buddy near you to go through this with you. I have a friend that exercises with me. When I am not feeling like going for a run or whatever it is that we have planned, she comes and drags me out of my house. It is a good thing though! And when she gets off her "healthy eating" I try to motivate her. It is good to have someone that is going through the same thing as you. You can rely on each other when you are having a bad day. I hope that helps. :)

  • I know, I really do need to find a buddy in all of this. Someone that is going to push me, someone that I can push. Its really the only way. I think I just need a change of workouts! something I am not bored with!

  • Everyday the sun rises - its a chance to start over. You need to find a work out buddy! A friend to commit x times a week and push each other and kick each others butts into gear. Focus on the positive - you CANT throw it away now. Get it girl. Super adorable pups btw.

  • I know a work out buddy would be fabulous. Extremely fabulous. I am in the process of trying to get people to commit to it, but its hard when all of your friends are little sticks and don't care what they eat. BLAH! lol I will focus on the positive! you're awesome! <3

  • You looked super happy when you were outside. Maybe you just need to go outside and play a few days a week. Rollerblade, walk, run, bike, play in a playground at an elementary school. Do something that is youthful and fun.

  • Aww, Cat! I can't really give out advice for you, because I'm at the same point. Not really doing well due to my moods and emotional eating. I really need to get back on low-carb and I've finally convinced my hubby of it. So tomorrow is grocery shopping day and we'll see how it goes.

    I loved watching you play in the leaves! I bet that was fun! And the pictures were great! I love macro photography!

    We cannot give up! We'll get back on track!

  • I know, I am such an emotional eater. Its sad really that we find comfort in food. But what else, food just makes you feel so good. That is AMAZING you convinced your husband to go low carb! it will be nice not having any of the temptations in your house! :)

  • DO NOT allow yourself to continue on this path. I lost 50lbs and got comfortable, then slowly quit eating healthy and exercising and now I'm right back to where I started. YOU do not want that. Take hold of things now because take it from me....it's WAY harder for me to get motivated to lose it the 2nd time around. I feel how you feel now and I have so far to go. I wish I had the answer for you because if I did I would share it with myself. Hang in there Cat.

  • I know, its so hard. I don't want to gain this weight back and I know I wont let myself. But what I am doing this week is not getting on the scale which is good. I am a scale a holic for sure. I am starting to get it together again! <3 thanks for your advice lovey!

  • I don't know exactly what to tell you, but i do know that you have to get in your mind that if you do not get back on track you WILL slowly put the weight back on. You have worked too hard to go back to square one. I think you also need to enjoy what you prepare. My meals are sooooooooo quick, easy, healthy and ridiculously delicious. For instance for lunch certain weeks i'll have meatless soups. To die for! breadfast a fruit and a pack of oatmeal. snack, delicious bars or another fruit etc.

  • I really need some way to just get myself to work out! I know i will slowly put weight back on if I don't shape it up. Blah its so frustrating! I need to just bite the bullet and do this thing right!

  • the first good thing to do is just RELAX!! haha, like, just let it go a little, don't attach such stress to the issue. You have the fire in you to achieve your goals in the end, and you know you'd never let it go all the way back to where you were right?? Sometimes its just a timing thing and we need a break. I have just come out of three weeks of binging and exactly the same shit you are talking about...it was awful, but at a point I just had to trust myself, and know that I'd find my way.

  • I know I need to just relax. It is just so hard. Its just one thing after another after another. I would never want to be back to where I was. Not at all. I do need a break but I dont want a break I am ready to move on to the next phase of my weight loss! THank you for your advice, i need to just BREATHE!

  • Maybe you could try to find something that will motivate you. Like a new pair of jeans, a swim suit. just set a goal, and once you reach it reward yourself with something you've really been wanting.

  • i really want to be able to wear shorts and look good in them.. maybe I will buy a pair (cheap since the season for shorts is over) and make that a goal!!

  • Do you have a YMCA? Some of them have a gym with classes that are $1-$3. Some gyms do the same thing and you don't have to be a member. If you go to them enough you can get to know people and when you don't go they will be like "where were you?" etc for accountability. I don't really know sweetie or I would apply it to myself for sure. I can keep it up for a month maybe a month and a half max, but after that, I'm sliding back. Please let me know what you find out? I could use that help myself

  • We do have a YMCA :) there are classes for 6 dollars, which I go to my Zumba class then. I love it. I just need something more. I dont know what I can do. I will let you know when I figure out what it was that I needed!!

    It TOTALLY kicked my ass and got me out of the SHIT mood I was in. I've been feeling like you this week, and when I started this, it's like I was transformed. I totally went from Pikachu to Raichu.

    I STARTED COUCH TO 5K !!

    It's so hard. It's almost emotionally difficult. Which is good. When I was fighting to get to the end I let so much anger out.

  • Hi, I don't really know what to tell you because I am kinda in the same boat as you are.... I just kinda feel frumpy and blah with everything weight loss. I feel like Im doing good if I can get one workout in. I haven't even been motivated enough to do my weigh in video for last Friday, even though I made it to 148.8, that is not motivating me!

    Some how we need to pull ourselves together and get back on track! Good luck to you, I know you can do it.

  • I'm the same way. I want to be like I was when I first started. SO motivated working out almost every day eating SO well. I need to get back to that stage. I don't know why motivation is such a hard thing to have and keep.

  • think of the last three times you went wrong...BELIEVE me there is somethin in common with those slip-ups..at least you are being productive with those late nights...i know what you mean i stay up until 4 for no good reason. you could plan out every meal and gym session but based on your free spirit i don't know if that will work. I will be your accountability but BE warned...I ACTUALLY keep tabs on people. i loved seeing you play in the leaves...all those colours make me feel SO good inside.
