Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time . With confidence I can say there will never be anyone as great as he was for his time . Hell, even now there is not a man in the NBA that wouldn't get royally owned by Michael Jordan in his prime .
I am very grateful I was alive to see this man play . Legend is Jordan !
@pbrlimit A great case can be made for Jordan as the best player ever, but it's by no means a open and closed issue. Jordan was no more dominant in his time than Chamberlain was in his, or Shaq in his heyday, or Larry Bird in his prime.
@NaturalLife24 Kobe Bryant has done this, over and over again. I'd say Jordan did it more often, but Kobe's greatest scoring performances are actually superior to Jordan's.
@hakola95 yes. however, despite kobe's great performance, MJ still averaged more points for his career. it tells me, Jordan's great games were more consistent. anyone can drop 55 in today's game (monta ellis for example or brandon jennings). but how often and consistently, and efficiently is the key
@dmun5587red123 Agreed. That's why I would say that Jordan is better than Kobe--not by a lot, but he's better. My point was in response to that other guy who was trying to claim that Kobe "could never do this." He did do it, many times, and his greatest performances (e.g. his 81 point game) were superior to Jordan's greatest performances.
@dmun5587red123 For example, the Lakers won all five of Kobe's 60+ point games; the Bulls won only two of Jordan's 60-point games. Only one of Kobe's 60-point games went into overtime; four of Jordan's five went into overtime.
@hakola95 That's just flat out false. I would go as far to say that MJ's 63 point performance against the Celts in '86 (arguably the greatest assembled team in NBA history, other than the '96 Bulls of course) is more impressive than Kobe's 81 against the JV-caliber Raptors.
@NaturalLife24 Except for the fact that the Bulls lost that game. Actually, of the five times in his career that Jordan scored 60 or more (four regular season, one in the playoffs), the Bulls lost three of those games. Of Kobe's five 60-point games, the Lakers won each one. Plus, Jordan needed overtime (or, in the case of that Celtics game, two overtimes) four times to get his 60 points; Kobe needed overtime only once.
@rrrjjjmmm100 They were the best! I just love watching 1980's NBA hoops, when fundamentals still meant something. Plus, the league wasn't watered down back then, and teams had to be extremely talented to win. Jordan won the MVP that season, but even his greatness wasn't enough for the Bulls: they were dusted off in five games by the Pistons. Teams had to have multiple great players to win it all.
back in these days the true "finals" game was always the knicks v.s the bulls. they would bang hard! oh and of course the lakers v.s. the celtics..no question...
how do you describe this guy? he was iron-willed with raw unbridled power. he was creative and at the same time efficient and clutch. i only own one jersey. it's an MJ away jersey, red on black which just happens to be my favorite colors. i have no interest in getting other jerseys.
this totally reminds me why there will never be another michael jordan ever again. another thing, amongst many highlights in this game, that one where Ewing blocked him, and he still got the shot to go down was totally awesome.
i'm looking for the fight from 1994 between the bulls' jo jo english and the knicks' derek harper. howard stern supposedly makes a hilarious face as he is 3 rows back from the fight.
Whatever happened to the good music and good basketball players of this country? Paul Pierce is Barkley fat and win chapionships, Tony Parker is french. Fergie? Travis? I can't remember who sings "a beautiful lie". Daughtry is Bald!!!dude!! a bald rock star, thats an experiment gone wrong.
Classic performance by MJ. Even when he didnt have the physical edge on the oponent he had the most dangerous edge of all - the mental edge. Combine that with heart and dedication and u get Michael Jordan.
Starks23 you are creating your own flavor. Nice Rocky/weakness overcoming angle. A couple of those baseline shots... and the pull-up double pump bank early!!
Wow, awesome game. He was so pumped up. The intensity is clear in the replays. Well, then again, you can say it for every Knicks game he played. Haha.
holy cow... starks, thanks a million... this is truly one of the most athletic, skillful games I have ever seen of mj. Ball control, quickness, clutch shooting, everything was there.

@NaturalLife24 LOL. The 1985-86 were a level above the 1995-96 Bulls. That's not even open to debate.

Incredible highlights!. Much better than Kobes 61 point performance, this Knicks team was much tougher than whatever it was that Kobe faced.
Great song selection too!
