  • BRAVO!!

  • These guys are absolutely brilliant.

  • where did the name, Katzenjammer, come from??

  • Katzenjammer is a german word meaning strictly "cats distress" - the word was later likened to being either a loud or confusing sound. In the English Webster dictionary it also lists Katzenjammer as meaning "hangover" or a "bewildered state."

  • what is the song called...right at the beginnig? (it sounds like circus music)

  • Entry of the Gladiators? (Someone correct me if I'm wrong)

  • the song at 1:50 is from beauty and the beast not sure whats the songs called but its from that disney movie

  • at about 5:25, they start playing this beautiful song. Does anyone know what it is?

  • Might be wrong - haven't heard it in years - but isn't it an arrangement of the theme from ET?

  • If I'm not mistaken, it's actually from the Star Wars theme.

  • I was wrong; it's from the Superman theme

  • thanks!

  • really cool, i laught a lot!

where can i see you live performing???

  • Wonderful performance! Thanks for sharing this video.

  • Why have I never heard of these two before? Do they tour?

  • While no one can top Borge, this duo injects so much fun and energy into their performance, it's definitely on par with the late great king of piano comedy.

  • greats

  • Great to see that there's a group continuing the tradition of such as Lehrer, Borge and Flanders & Swann. These guys are great! I love the section starting around 7' when they're playing two different things simultaneously - so well arranged!

I can't think of the 8:45 piece either (although I'm certain I know it), so would also appreciate a reminder!

  • Hi,

Thanks for the comments. Piece around 8:45 is Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No.2 in C# Minor.

    Scott

  • Sorry - never said thanks!

One more if you happen to know it - do you know what the piece is that's played on top of the minute waltz circa 8'15"?

  • Entry of the Gladiators

  • I have loved to hear this duo on concert twice on board the Queen Victoria, the newest ship from Cunard. They presented themselves twice on board. They are FA-BU-LOUS!

They are amazing, lovely and most of all UNIQUE.

NEVER SEEN A SHOW SO FUNNY AND SO CREATIVE

They have brought lot of new ideas of how to play so well known pieces either classical or contemporary ones.

  • scottyedin,

What is the name of the song between 9:09 and 9:37?

This is an excellent video, keep it up

  • Hi, the piece is Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, complete with bells, bombs and a firework finale! The guys have done a fantastic arrangement.

  • Thanks

  • scottyedin, what is the name of the first song the are playing, plz tell me

  • Wunderbar. Any chance of Katzenjammer doing their version of Katchaurian's Sabre Dance?

  • Katchaturian, obviously. God, these Russians. Why can't any of them be called Smith?

  • he's actually armenian...

  • what is the piece starting ~5:24 ? (and own arrangment ? ) why do you have a german name ? :-)

    you're doing a excellent job!

  • The piece is Katzenjammer's own arrangement of the love music from Superman, composed by John Williams.

Although Katzenjammer is a German word, it is also in the English dictionary meaning 'Hangover'. Also, the name was taken from the old American cartoon strip, the Katzenjammer Kids which was about two naughty blonde lads getting up to mischief.

I hope this helps - Scott

  • Thank you!

  • I saw them perform on a cruise. They were AWESOME! The part where they play fur elise and make gin and tonics is awesome live!

  • wow!!! i never even imagined music like this... i really liked the christmass songs above beethoven's music! by the way, does anybody know the name of the piece played in 7:41?

  • Hello it's Chopin's Etude no.3 in E with Tie a yellow Ribbon over the top!

  • Hi, the two pieces being played are Chopin's 3rd Etude with 'Tie a Yellow Ribbon' being played over the top.

  • 1000 merci

  • Yes !! Please play Australia - I'll be there if you come to Sydney. This is just wonderful entertainment.

  • That's fantastic guys, well done!! I would love to see the performance live, but judging from the heavily booked calendar on your site it unlikely you'll be touring Australia or NZ anytime soon. I guess we'll just have to look forward to the next video then (hint hint!) Keep it the great work.

  • ive met KatzenJammer onboard the QE2 this summer, and is better live, so much action and great all round comedy show

  • GREAT video!!!

  • thank you

  • what is the piece between 0,21 and 0,31

  • Hi elias9449, it's an old piece of music called "The Robin's Return"

  • I'm going to see this duo tonight at the Brunton Hall, Musselburgh, Edinburgh. Looking forward to it!

  • Hi Scotpics,

Katzenjammer's show at the Brunton Theatre, Musselburgh, is Friday 17th August, not tonight. I hope you don't have a wasted journey.

    Scott (Manager)

  • I did have a wasted journey because my partner got the dates wrong! We were a month early. Not to worry, we'll buy tickets in advance for the August show.

  • So enjoyed your performance at the "Georgian" theatre Richmond yesterday. Incredibly tallented and funny with it, come again.

  • The best thing I've seen in...well...a couple of hours. Love you guys!!!!!!

  • Amazing version of Fur Elise at 3:45! I never thought anytwo could fill the shoes of Victor Borge til I saw these guys.

  • nice

  • Yay! I just saw them tonight and loved it! Great pair and they signed my cd afterwards :D

  • What are those tunes being played between 5.30 - 6min, as well as 2.16-2.46min?!

  • Hi cOstring, between 2:16 and 2:46 is an arrangement of "Windmills of Your Mind" and between 5:30 and 6:00 is the love theme from the original Superman movie composed by John Williams.

  • I think this pair are playing at Epsom Playhouse on May 17th...I saw them before and they ROCK!!!

  • What are their names?

  • They are Kevin Farrell and Steven Worbey - both UK-based

  • Can anyone tell me the name of the song that's played from 7:09 - 7:39? Minus the "cheery" part.

  • The 'classical' piece of music I think you are referring to is the slow movement from Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata

  • Victor Borge comes to mind

  • Thank goodness for UTUBE - we first saw them perform on HOlland America's "Prinsendam" in early 2006. CDs don't do them justice and they have not made a DVD. Seeing them perform is as important as hearing them play. A DVD would still be a great item - they could sell it on the internet for those of us who canot fly to the UK to see them perform.

  • they are extremely talented

  • spot on a modern flanders and Swann

  • Amazing i wish i could be as funny as they are
