  • Great video - just like your other ones.

  • We are using speakers to hear this video explaining how speakers work!

  • We use it knowing nothing how it works. Who that first develop it, I want to know why they think to create a speaker?

  • Very interesting. Whoever invented this idea and got it to work properly is a complete and utter genius.

  • Sound Waves being Particle Vibrations, of course

    (pwned by a 13yr old)

  • awesome

  • Fuck You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @AvronTheBeastBoy wtf niga

  • great video, congratulation. do you know any equation between the wavelength and the diameter of the cone of a speaker? thanx

  • I have a small Polk Audio dash speaker and the magnet has come apart. When I try to put the two pieces back together (which is easy because the magnet attracts the other metal part), the diaphram and entire speaker cone are being pushed outward with a lot of force, so much force, in fact, that I'm going to need to glue the outer gasket back down. I have a bit of experience with replacing surrounds, but I have never dealt with a magnet becoming separated from the rest of the speaker. Any ideas?

  • Great video, very clear.

  • Nice video so the coil attracts a negative or positive signal from the electromagnet and at the same time the permanent magnet attracts the opposite which inturn gives you a piston effect which creates sound! am I rite or not? Haha

  • @offdahizzay The coil receives alternating current from the amplifier, which translates to a positive or negative electromagnetic field according to the direction in which the current is going. As there is a permanent magnet behind the coil, this will attract or repel the coil according to the (fluctuating) polarity of the coil's electromagnetic field. This causes the diaphragm to move back and forth, creating sound. (I think!) Hope that makes sense!

  • @offdahizzay (the coil IS the electromagnet btw)

  • now i wanna know how the player reads the cd, and sends info to the speakers, i want to know every little detail!! haha

  • @SwatbotDubstep i do too... did u find out?

  • @external25 lol no

  • very cool!

  • thanks :D

  • that was confusing. but i guess i sorta get it now

  • excellent tv show !! I watched this one in italy!! anyway there are other videos of " decontructed " on the discovery science website..thanks for sharing !!

  • woah u can make any speaker just have an elitrical sound wave wich will probaqbly make a same current i think

  • 2:25 4"666"? Evil speaker....

  • The speakers on my tv are really trying to kill me.
