this is such a great album. the stride standards he puts between his originals illustrate how he put the modern and the classic all within one phrase.
I guess that man sometimes did not suffer fools gladly, but he and all the early boppers would have been Mccarther Fellows and have all kinds of other incomes and been more often treated like royalty had they been born a bit later. So any bitterness from any one of them from time to time couldn't be surprising, right?
