She played this extremely well, her dynamic contrast was spot on, and most of the videos I see on youtube that get all these comments like OMG YOUR SO GOOD AMAZING PLAYING GREAT QUALITY GO PRO here are extremely flat and not what I would call "music", rather notes on a page as my teacher says. I bet half of you guys can't even distinct any difference, and you're all just bandwagoning.

Until now, I still feel nervous when performing to an audience that's at least 50 people who I do not know personally. Now multiply that by about 200x and I don' t think that it's possible to be not nervous.

To me, she's not really playing the theme as much as she is just reciting back the notes. She might not be a fan of the series, so it probably doesn't have any meaning to her.

Even if she doesn't know Final Fantasy, if she's a professional musician, she should be able to nail a hall with 1000 people. This performance just says that she's no more than a semi-pro.

The whole orchestra sounds like a semi-pro to me, to be honest. Just compare this performance with "Tour de Japon", you'll see what I mean.

I, in no way am doubting this woman's skill, but it seems like she's just playing from a sheet of music, and not adding any sort of emotion into it, as if she doesn't even know who or what the song is for.

I think the same thing. Fact is, unless the person feels an emotional connection to the song and knows what the story to the song is, they wont know what kind of feeling to put into it when they play the piece.

The woman is most likely not a fan or has never played the game so she wont know the feel of the song. That said, she did play it good despite not having that emotional punch to it.

I love this piece! I have the sheet music and play it on the piano. Technique-wise, she is superb and excellent, especially the middle-section (the part with the 2-against-3 rhythm).

One issue I personally feel is she was a bit fast. It's an sensitive piece. It's not just notes... it's emotion.

I don't know. It kinda felt like listening to a machine almost. I want to hear dynamic swells... rubato tempos. Freedom of expression... this song's a tearjerker. Yet this performance felt... stiff.

I would say it was so-so. I don't play piano, but I am a musician.

I think the speed was like a few BPM too fast, but still not too bad, it was always a faster song than some of the other slower ones.

Some of the chords were overwhelming the melody, in that case it should be mezzo piano, and the melody should be forte, so not to cover up the melody.

This was the only thing I liked about Tifa til FF7:AC, lol. In FF7 her final weapon sucked, and she was just not realistic to be in the party.

Why is everyone is complaining about her playing? YES she did some mistakes and YES she is probably nervous and YES it's faster than normally. but she also disguises her mistakes very well which is very hard to do, and also there are like thousands of people watching so the fact that she would be nervous isn't so strange, and if she plays a little fast may be because at least when I play the piano if you play slow and make a mistake it's a lot easier to hear it, maybe she's precautious.
