Al Burj is a proposed skyscraper so it's not the tallest building in the world because it doesn't exist! only on paper.

I doubt very much that this building will ever be built. Currently, Dubai has OVERbuilt therefore property prices are decreasing. Because of that, they are only building what has been planned and approved and the Al Burj is NOT included in this. It is only a PROPOSED pipedream. Perhaps if you weren't so far left of the stratosphere, you might be able to see thru the haze of the galaxy.

it has become more and more unlikely that the al burj will be built, and as far as the burj dubai is concerned, we gotta wait for the final height, ok indeed it is already the world's tallest building but it has not reached the 700 meter mark by now and judging by actual pictures the top of the building has already become very slim so i don't think that it will go up much higher anymore,

I am not sure if this sketchup is accurate, the walls look thin as paper and that huge cylinder at the top smack in the center is kind of awkward. i would think if that was a pendulumn that the center terraces would provide enough support. i cant wait till something like this gets built. its amazing what the human race can imagine, it wont only be the tallest tower, but a world monument.
