CPS Tac has about 25 Suburbans and a few Excursions. The Excursions are used less because they don't fit SWAT's needs as well as the Suburbans. Also they have two APC's although one is a former WWII troop carrier and is pretty much useless without wanting to destroy the roads. Thats not even mentioning the two helicopters HAWC 1 and HAWC 2.

when i was at my friends house an armored vehicle was at the house 5 doors down and they had like 17 guys surrounding the house and threw a cs gas canister inthe house it was soo cool

@aumi20 I hate seeing SWAT in any form. lol Back when I was in Elementary, there was a hostage situation a block away. Friend's mom said cops everywhere. We were sent into a lockdown, so I never saw anything.

In fact it is not rare to see police in SUV's in Calgary. To my knowledge they own at least 3. Two Dark Ford Excursions and One newer model Chev Suburban. (the one I beleive you have in your video) Calgary Police in my opinion have a toy for every incident. More so than other cities in this country I have lived with similar population base. They also have the new quarter million dollar Armoured Personell Carrier, which I am sure will be more than worth it for Stampede

Ah. Well that was the only time that I myself have ever seen this vehicle, or any of its kind for that matter. The only other time I saw something about Tactical Police SUV's was a couple days later on the news. I also don't see a point to Calgary's new APC... Kinda pointless in my mind...

@Epscadets The APC? Yes, it is pointless until they need it, then it's the best thing since sliced bread. I've seen two armored "tanks" (possibly the same exact vehicle) driving on the street, but I still don't really see a huge need for them. That's just my opinion based on what I've found, others might see it another way.

i've seen them suiting up at a NW chinese church near Citadel about 2 weeks ago. They had all 3 tinted out suburbans, the armored car and few marked and unmarked cruisers. was 10:50pm and busted a nut and drove by at 10:58 and they were gone.

Another time I saw them suit up at Superstore parking lot on country hills. No armored car.

Another time we were all drunk and my friend went into the street with a BB gun...10-15min later SWAT came running from sides of houses and rushed the house!
