  • One of the best RPGs from the NES system, its such a classic :)

  • One of my favorite games, ever. Also creepy. (or was at the time)

  • I always used Deluge as my magic weapon to beat any boss in this game.

Deluge was simply the best magic you could have (price/quality).

  • He was a pretty restless guy

  • It was about the journey, not the end. : )

  • Very nice, AR. This is the first time I've seen anybody defeat the Evil One without using the Ointment glitch.

  • I did it as well.

I beat this game on the console without any sort of cheat

  • one word Epic

  • I loved the game's plot and concept

I really wish they could remake this into more of a 3-d/birds eye view/ feel or something to it because this game was so limited though the story gave it so much potential

can you imagine today's graphics and game engines remaking this game? an entirely huge tree you have to explore and stuff like that?

  • Oh wow, this brings so many memories! My brother and I would sneak late at night and try to beat the stages... Thanks!!!

  • One of my favorite games. Took a while to beat it back then.

  • nice!!!!!!!!!!!! you beat it without cheating. everyone else ive watched on here had to cheat to beat it.

  • My dad didn't like video games, but he ended up beating this game long before I could even get close. Thanks for showing this ending.

  • Me too,i didn't find it that hard either.

Back then i was very patient as well and even beat hard games like contra wich are dificult like few even imagine with todays games.

  • I beat this game before, and the one thing I hated was that your helmet was a shield, leaving your body open to get owned. A shield still protected you somewhat even if you were already going to take damage. Good memories. And I think in my playing time, I had an Elixir prepared even if I didn't have a red potion on hand. Good memories...

  • One of my favorite NES games. The music, the equipment, the quests, the levels... Love it.

Though, with the winged boots and the elixir just below the boss' room, that skull-faced demon is cake.

  • I'd say this is the only game i played nearly as much as Dragon Warrior 3 and 4. It's easily one of my favorites of all time.

  • lol wut? that was the final boss of Faxanadu? I heard it was supposed to be devil or some such.... but that just looked like a skull with legs.

  • i never beat it either and just glad to see the end finally

  • me too, when I played it I was only 7 and it was WAY too hard! lol

  • I used to play and play that game until it wore out and I never beat it, but now I know what happens at the end, and I don't know how satisfied I am =(.

  • i love Faxanadu

  • Me too!

  • This and Kid Icarus are the 2 hardest NES games I ever played.

  • try beating snake rattle n roll

  • spoiler =P

  • gr8 game. altho thats confused me a bit. that boss looked familiat but aint the last world the land of mist? & i dont remember getin far on it :S

  • I'm kinda confused about that as well. The final Place is called Dartmoor but I never figured out if it's outside or inside the world tree.

  • @Artificialraven It's outside it. According to the map in the manual, Branch is a the branch that the meteor crashed through before landing in a body of water. At the other end of Branch, there's like a cliff or something with a castle on it and Dartmoor is in there. The real interesting thing about this game is that the final boss and the dragon guarding the Dragon Slayer were originally supposed to be swapped (the Dragon was meant to be the final boss) but they switched it for some reason.

  • I cried when I beat this

  • This thing looks like the ones from Alien.

  • Ahh yeah ;)

  • Ah, the memories. ^^ One of my favorite games as a kid. Still like it, though.

  • I'm up to the end of this (been playing it on the Dreamcast) and loving it!

  • I remember this game when i was kid. I'm still lovin' it! A classic.

  • Thanks for upload this video. I never saw the end of this game until now. Of course is not so epic but every story must end somehow.

  • At 1:10, the guy's face looks like the adventure island one.

Also, I noticed something: hudson soft makes great games but with bad endings. Look the NES Bomberman: a great game but a bad ending.

BTW, great ending song (after the talk with the king)

  • Played it... loved it :)

Really one of the best adventure games on the NES.

Too bad my deck broke.. otherwise I would play it again.. just for old times' sake

  • Great game, great memories...

  • looks bad ass in the full set of armor. it was a good game for its time

  • What a restless guy!

  • I rememeber this ending.... o the days of being useless

  • I so remember playing this game and getting pissed off when id die or get hurt.

  • You are freakin' kidding me! You go through all that just for a mispelling of the word Dwarves (spelled Dwarfs in the game) and a lame scene of you walking away? GAH!

  • That's actually more of an ending than quite a few other NES games.

  • Yeah I much prefer this ending over the "Congratulations, The End" kind of ending alot of NES games have.

  • I used to play Faxanadu when I was a kid. Most people don't even know this game. I think it was underrated, I liked it a lot. Really nice game music :) and maybe the ending is a bit lame, but I still think it was a great game ^^

  • i used to have that game! you couldnt save it + it was realy realy hard.. never got to the end but this is just ridicilous!! this is the worst end if ever seen ><

  • that game was really had as i remembered... any chance of someone putting a game run through on here?

  • great game

  • Very lame ending
