Amazing it is, even with his 'gayness creeping out', a traumatic moment for "Gucci102218" and am glad that "Chankymanky" was pleased with Liang's arms, and that she/he 'doesn't care of he's gay'! What a progressive crowd! Would love for them to have come to NY to see the show, live on stage, and hear them say those things..out loud! Dancers are amazing and, I think, more athletic than most athletes due to their endurance and movement, even if some are gay. Hey! Maybe you all can help cure them.
Pretty darn cool! But... is this a compilation of clips from different showings... cuz some parts his shirt's buttoned... then it's not..then it is... then there's a stool.. then none...
Nice Work! Desmond was better--saw him 3rd night. This is mostly NOT Bob Fosse's choreography however! This was a short piece (maybe 50 seconds) in DANCIN' which ballet dancer Charles Ward did (principal with ABT). Shame they didn't film the original FOSSE company rather than the 2nd and 3rd string that ended up on the video. Bob called me the BULL and you can watch me doing the male adagio in ALL THAT JAZZ, and I also danced with the original company of Dancin' on B'Way//Gary Flannery
I was IN the original Broadway show this was from---HOW do you KNOW it was done by BOB??? Parts of it were--but parts of it were NOT!! Gary The DANCIN' MAN
We are studying it in VCE Dance, and it's an official dance that the students need to study, so I don't see why they would say it's by Bob Fosse when it's not.
IT IS MOSTLY Fosse's work--there are just some additions and changes that are NOT--as Bob was long passed before any of this was put together!! I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE--because I understudied THIS piece//respectfully, Gary
@dancinman17 Hey, you and I have chatted before, and yes, this is mostly Fosse's work, obviously, but as seen through the eyes of Reinking, and I don't see anything wrong with that, as she directed/choreographed it and it was her vision of his work. Having seen, as a kid, "Dancin'", "Pippin", "Chicago"....etc..."in exemplar"...I, a novice, would not see the things you do, but have seen enough to know good from bad and the performances in the PBS 'Fosse' were for me, great. Such energy! Peace!
I saw Desmond in the role twice (LA tryout/Broadway previews). He and Edward are both ballet trained but in my opinion Desmond has more experience in all sort of dance and Eddie is more the pure ballet guy. Having said that they were both standouts in the productions and Edward only suffers slighty due to comparison. Desmond is also the better know more established of the two.
I agree, though I really liked Ken Alan's work in the show, too. Edwaard Liang certainly stopped the show with this number. I would love to have seen former Alvin Ailey dancer Desmond Richardson perform this in the original production as well.
would you also happen to have him performing the routine with two other dancers where they wear the cowboy hats in the routine from the Bob Hope special, and if so, would you please upload it? Other than "RMF", it my favorite from this show.

Edwaard Liang, the best of the best of male dancers. I love this guy. He's amazing.

Wow, he's amazing.
I'd love to learn to dance like that. I'm taking a Fosse jazz intensive or something like it in a couple years. (:

Beautiful man.
beautiful moves.
Easily, my favorite dancer in that production.
