you can't compare the older iPod touch to the new Zune HD, for two reasons. #1, the iPod touch would definitely lose, and #2, Apple is beyond that. Its iPod touch has evolved beyond the original and with over 100000 apps, it is quickly becoming a handy pocket computer.

For the Zune HD, it was designed for a different purpose. The media player is still the main component, which it does better than the iPod touch, with the web browser and touchscreen added as an afterthought to add appeal.

I am an IPOD touch C++ Programmer making apps everyday i just bought the 32 gig Zune HD its Awesome!!!. Just start by comparing the prices back when the Ipod touch first came out..... the 16 gig itouch was $280 now and the 32 gig itouch was 500. Zune has now come out with Zune HD for a 32 gig zune HD it is $280 and the 64 gig when it comes out is estimated to be $310 dollars. So just by comparing prices you can already tell that Zune is not trying to steal the ipod touch market

Thats pretty ignorant to say. When the App store first came out for iPhone it was bare bones; what was that like 2 to 3 years ago? Plus at least a little more than half of the current apps on iTunes are pretty much useless junk. I'm not saying its terrible and not helpful (some apps), but really iFart?You can't knock the Zune's apps for being out for only a day. Give it some time and if by a year the apps dont do justice to you then dont buy it. Simple.

this device is DEVINE lol.. The zune HD is superior to the iPod touch in every ascpect, minus the app store. And we all know microsoft is cooking something up to rival that. Just watching people navigate through the UI is a blast. Looks like much more fun than the touch. ZUNE HD FTW!!!

zune has been our since sept, and it already has a few apps. give it 8 month, which which appe had to get their shiz together. and then we can really compare.

and second to that I like the zune hd interface better.. it's more urban. itouch interface is kinda geeky. as for the browser. zune hd is totally stupid. why would they try to put ie on a mobile device. the interface of the browser is so ugly. plus it load slow too... I like the video playback, how it looks, how it organize music etc. I hope micro stop spending times making new models and improve on zhd. there's no point of new models if they have the same bs in every model

You know what will piss me off? Zune HD will come out with its super fast and battery efficient nVidia Tegra chip and other great features and people will be amazed and excited about it, but then Apple also releases its fourth generation iPod Touch the same month with a built in GPS and camera along with other 'cool' features and start advertising about it which will make people forget about the Zune HD.

As for me, I am not an Apple fan at all, so I'll get the Zune HD anyways :)

Well Zune did a Touch Pad, which ipod later turned a touch screen, plus there were ALREADY touch screen mp3 players aswell as cellphones before Apple decided to join the race. Everyone copies everyone in the end.
