I love this tap bit dude!

I picked up the Guitar World Learn to Shred DVD with all of Batio's "Time to Burn" columns a couple years ago for only $10. That was probably best $10 I ever spent. My guitar skills improved so much within minutes of watching it, his lessons are simple easy to comprehend & really do turn you into a shred master.

where did you learn guitar self taught?...how long you been playing?

@mmim4 Pretty much self taught but I did take some lessons from Jasun Tipton, the guitarist from Zero Hour, a progressive metal band to help me learn some techniques. I've been playing off and on for like 8 or 9 years.

@aeee If by dampener you mean that thing Michael Angelo has on his guitars when he plays two necks at the same time then no, I don't have one haha. With this lick since you're string skipping it helps if you can keep your tapping hand close to the strings to minimize the noise, so I guess that is palm muting. =) I think I practice a lot really slowly to make sure I was cutting down the noise, but it could always be better haha...Thanks so much for watching and commenting!

Might have been using an MXR Zakk Wylde Overdrive but can't remember now...you can get some decent distortion out of the Crate though.

If you havent tried them already, look into some of Michael Romeo's string skipping tapping licks. I think you will find them more fun and challenging. Keep it up mate! Cheers!
