I was having a hard time choosing between a Ford Fusion and a Chevy Malibu. I found out the Ford Fusion is made in Mexico and the Chevy Malibu is made in USA, Once I found that out, I am the happy owner of a 2010 Malibu LTZ. As a proud American I can only buy cars that are designed and manufactured in USA in good conscience. I don't care about quality - I care about America - in is my country and the country that I love. I test drove the Fusion for nearly 45 minutes. I had to take it back due to motion sickness because the windshield had "waves" running across it, making my line of vision a constant fight to focus. The dealer noticed it too and we checked out all the other Fusions and every single one of them had it too. I drive a VW Bug, so a sloping windshield does not bother me. Fusions certainly did. I'll check out the Malibu.

I think the two-tone version of the Malibu interior is extremely good-looking, and the exterior isn't bad either. The problem is GM overlooked some small things--no stick shift available, no rear center armrest, no navigation (no, On-Star isn't real navi) no real MP3 interface. It is still a good, car, though, and better than the boring Camry or fugly Accord.

This review was completely TRASH. First of all, you want to do an accurate review, sit inside the malibu and do a side by side review. Keeping the malibu in the background for a few seconds isn't going to convince anyone that Ford is the better car. You say that the malibu concept is "polarizing" and then discard the idea, utterly unprofessional. This is a bias comparison of the two vehicles, the Fusion isn't as nice and reliable as they say it is. My aunt just bought one last year and the engine is loud, the doors are loud and not well insulated. The interior in the Ford is really uncomfortable compared to the Chevy Malibu and you won't get as good MPGs in the Ford as you would in the Malibu. Not including, you will not get as good of crash test ratings in the Ford as you would in the Chevy, do to the new Lamda Platform from GM.

Anyway, I just purchased am '09 Malibu and am quite happy with it. I gave everyone a fair shake, I did not start shopping with the intention of buying Chevy. I found this to be far and away the best value. Whether it has the reliability of a Toyo or Honda remains to be seen but a 100,000 mile warranty gives me confidence.
