Hey Steve, how would the man attacking with a calf crush place his arm to prevent the armbar? We tried it with a less traditional two arm pull, flipping the inside arm (in the video it would be the right) over so both hands were on the same side (left side away from the armbar).
This counter isn't very effective but is a very good last resort because he can easily avoid you reaching his arm and finish his submission or get on to a top position

my coach teaches the calf-crush with only one hand(outside hand), for this reason.
