Yes if you have the mastermune equipped, Masa and Mune will appear rather than Serge's spirit.

@Funami2006 depending on your weapon is also what spirit appears sometimes i will get a monster spirit behind me

Flying Arrow looks cool, but truth be told, Serge's Dash&Slash cripples enemies the best. Try it out for yourself! Even better still if you get the Mastermune. Only then the Dash&Slash can deliver absurd amounts of damage. If that's not enough, get the Sunglasses accessory and equip it.
