  • Dude, would you PLEASE fucking move on from demanding removable mobo trays??!! This is not 2001, move on!!!!

  • does he review anything that isn't 100% kickarse?

  • @JeBuSv20 hes a fukn douche

  • I have this Case in its box right next to me now =) Cant wait till my parts all come =D!

  • This guy is gonna need a neck brace one day..

  • this or the haf X or phantom 410?

  • @paralogixer

I understand the appeal of the HAF X, but I get the impression it's really for enthusiasts who plan on going nuts with overclocking. I'm sure those enormous fans come in handy when you have extreme heat to dissipate, but for your average joe... they look like overkill.

I like this because it doesn't have any bells and whistles, just a smooth solid metal chassis. Pricey though... can't deny that.

  • There's no reason for new cases to not have removable MB tray.

  • @christpunchers true but making the MB tray removable...that costs time and money..ultimatly making the case more expensive. but in regards to this cases price...they should have included one. I also think that turning the mobo 90 deg. is a good idea as far as cooling options..but the PSu needs to still be on the bottom in my opinion...and its horrible as far as managing cable length for I/O area...taking 1/2ft off any cord length so it can come out the back. otherwise nice case

  • dude your a psycho

  • Why does he call it a FULL tower when every website lists it as a MID tower?

  • Comment removed

  • Comment removed

  • Who the hell wants a full tower? Running 5 optical drives??

  • @ComicPenius more room for watercooling etc

  • @Jonislol Yeah, so does a house.

  • @ComicPenius ...ok

  • Hey Rodney, keep up the work with the vids :)

  • @ijazzP

if you have any bit of intelligence and creativity, you can add fans and venting to the window lawl

  • @AlaskanMeTuber

    Or next to it...

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE COME UP WITH A NEW CASE WITH REMOVABLE MOTHERBOARD TRAY SO I CAN HEAR HIM SAY "THIS IS PERFECT"

  • i like how the audio quality/level drops right as he tests the fans. xD

  • @00101110o Or could be he's further away from the camera?

  • Its a full tower made from metal with noise dampening tech what do you expext it to weigh?

  • 0:43 i thought he broke the case =/

  • This or haf x (or something better, price isnt a problem)

  • @mesuirchief : This because it is something very different. Personally, one thing I hate about 99% of all cases out there is the connections are at the back as it is inconvenient for me. Also, I think cooling on this case is good, because hot air rises!

Also, don't you like trying new things? If it turns out you don't like it, atleast you can say hey I have tried it :)

  • i knew he would say the motherboard tray was not removable...

Does anyone else agree that that's a bit like saying the wall in my house is not removable so I can not hang a picture as easily....?

  • @wtchluring

Removable motherboard trays are actually available on the market though, I have never seen a house with removable walls :P

Sorry if I am the 20th person to tell you this! lol

  • @nickdog670 lol its alright. I see what you mean but at the end of the day are you going to pay $30-$50 more for the manufacture to make the motherboard tray removable. There are a lot of things available on the market, doesn't mean they are practical lol :P.

  • @wtchluring

That is true! I do not see the point of removable trays and I would never get one since that usually adds to the price of the case like $50 bucks

  • @wtchluring I've always liked cases with removable motherboard trays when installing. My hands are really big and it's hard to work around some areas. Removing the motherboard tray, installing almost everything, and slipping it back in is a breeze. That said, I'm buying this case in January.

  • @OtherSqrl Yeah its a good case and I see what you mean. I am saving for this case but I will probably not have enough money until Janurary 2013 as I will build a whole new system to put in it. By then though there will probably be a newer and better case that I want.

  • in another video he said it was mid tower o_O

  • this or raven 2?

  • @Zillamp3z Between the RV02 & FT02 I'd say it comes down to what you prefer as far as aesthetics go

  • My accessory box with screws and parts was missing when I got my box ! So, my first impression is BAD!

  • When you look reflection from case window, wondering the same as I do?

    4:05

  • Really superb case I use this one in combination with 9650 @ 3.8Ghz with H50 hydro cooler and ati 5870 . always cool even on low fan settings

  • @DirtyMidgetStudios nope this case is the best case for air cooling it has beated all the HAF series in temps and the case is very silent

  • @GameGuy901 Not only does it beat the HAF cases in temperatures it does it much more quietly. Even with the bottom fans on high this case is very quiet. However I keep them at about 600 RPM with a fan controller. This case is literally silent under normal use. When I'm running a demanding game my graphics card fans speeds up a little but. However, I'm usually concentrating on the game and don't even notice. I love this case.

  • No water cooling?

  • im going to get that tower

  • my favorite part is "their logo is at the bottom"

  • Jesus fucking CHRIST with you and the "removable motherboard tray" bullpiss. Get the fuck over that hard on for cunt sakes. THIS IS 2011!

  • @RaVeN19Dizzle stfu it's his catchphrase

  • @zxcv1175 Hard to justify calling it a "Catchphrase" when he lists it as a con to every case he reviews.

  • @RaVeN19Dizzle If you had a case with a removable motherboard tray you would understand how useful it is when it comes to changing components. Hence it is a con.

  • @RealFan: It depends on what components you are changing.

  • "At the bottom are two rubber feet"

    haha

  • I have one of them (the b version, without side-window), the 180 fans are pretty loud and make a loud deep noise, even if the shift is set to low. Better buy a good fancontroll to it (or remove the fans... like I currently) it isn't the best silent case anyway.

  • Rodney ftw!

  • 3DGameMan vs William Shanter- unnecessary emphasis competition 2011

  • @JTGaming Kidding me? It should be 3DGameMan vs GMan from Half-life series.

  • Are you telling me I can't remove the fucking motherboard tray!?!?!?!?! BWRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWRRRR!!!!

  • "IF the fan grille is removed"

  • He talks like Stevie from Malcolm in the Middle

  • Black on the inside, black on the outside.

  • just bought this case with 50% sale, shit is niice

  • @tony8999 how? where did you get it from? I'm looking to get it soon.

  • Cant hear the fans over my computer fans lol

  • @MrMakesmoke

I thought i had the video on mute during the fan test lol..

  • @MrMakesmoke Yea, It's Awesome, its really... american, but without being annoying.

  • I hope you make some money doing these reviews because they give pretty much all the info anyone could ask for prior to buying a case - and in a very articulated way as well :-)

    Cheers

  • 'All you have to is remove here' .. SMAAAAASH

  • Got this case in silver, no window. I like my system looking good, not flashy. It is running an i7 980x tho :) Anyway:

-Cable management is ok, but not as good as suggested in this review. You can thread cables round the back easily enough BUT all these small holes are almost useless. Because they're VERY small, they're only good for cable ties, which you'd have to put in BEFORE mounting the mobo.

-Thing is very heavy. After installing the hardware, it's a real effort to lift.

    -Price SUUUCKS.

  • Comment removed

  • -Cooling is very efficient and clean, this being a decidedly positive pressure case (3x180mm intake vs 1x120mm exhaust fans)

-Mobo rotation is a brilliant idea- helps cooling (warm air rises naturally, fans help) and gives easy access to mobo ports on top (no more desk-diving :))

-It's very quiet, especially if you spin the top fan down a bit in 2D mode. The 180mm fans are basically inaudible in any real-life situation.

-Looks just awesome, especially the silver IMO.

  • Every time I watch 3DGAMEMAN's videos i usually hear "Unforunately, the motherboard tray is NOT removable."

  • @acogscopepwn watch the tj07 review

  • @acogscopepwn Haha, yeah. Must have been a little lost for words when reviewing the ATCS 840.

  • i've never seen that sorta case before

  • This case is amazing, definitely going to be my next case. The only gripe I have with this case is the fact that it is very heavy. I think for the price, or maybe a little more, they could have made the case 100% aluminum to make it a little lighter.

  • @behem0th777 true but i think this is the best mix, keeps the cost down.

  • @dufydf gay

  • I WANT I WANT!!

  • would this case fit a corsair h70?

  • Yes.

  • Comment removed

  • @squiddy102

I'm running an H70 in it, with both radiator fans attached. Fits without problems.

  • @jay2jayB

can you post a video how you installed h70,i supose you remove 12 mm fan??

  • @mauritos1976

    here:

    youtube.com/watch?v=GAX0RoiWwfs

  • RV02 FTW!

  • nice video

  • this sounded so scripted

  • @GayForJC

a scripted review is good it means they actually took time to learn about the product..

  • What exactly is the gripe for the lack of a removable motherboard tray? I seen your #331 - Q&A segment in regards to this....but I don't know if you were either unprepared with a logical reason or just plain drunk. It makes no sense for a case to have a removable motherboard. How difficult is it to reach the ram/gpu/cpu cooler/etc..? If you need to remove the motherboard that frequently....then maybe a case isn't what you need. They make test bench racks for just that reason.

  • wow its so loud...oh wait thats my case...doh.

  • @icancount123578

    no its not

  • Anyone else scared by his aggression towards that top panel?

  • "At the top is a removable panel. All you need to do is pull here...." Geez dude it looked like you broke it at first lmao.

  • great review! fast quick and very straight to the point!

  • Hey mom, can I borrow your credit card?

  • Fantastic presentation video for what looks like an awesome case, just need to be able to justify spending that much now.

  • mother fucker i keeps buffering god damnit

  • Holy shit, what a beast case

  • This might seem like a dumb question but, is there a similar case that is not quite as tall?

I don't really need that much 5.5in bays, but I like the idea of having the i/o board facing upwards instead of in the back. I realize that might not be possible because of the design, but I figure it's worth asking, just in case.

  • @naloblue Are you nuts? Have you seen this case in person? It's about the height of a midi case...

  • @naloblue I own a Raven RV02 case that uses almost the exact dimensions as this FT02 model. The height is that of a common mid-tower case and not tall at all. The secret is that the case is looonnnnng (but sexy), but not much longer than a case like the Corsair Obsidian 800D.

    tr;dl - It isn't tall, you'll be fine.

  • Hi. I'm thinking of switching my case from Antec P182 to this case, but wondering if this case is really quiet case and keeps all five HDD in lower temperature or not.

So far, P182 is really quiet, but air flow is not great at all.

    Does anyone know about it?

  • 2 things:

    1: can u replace the 3x 120mm Fans @ the bottom?

2: aww no remoovable mobo tray?..... i did NOT c that coming

  • @xFoKe They're 180mm, not 120mm fans, and yes, you are able to replace them.

  • Comment removed

  • Nice review and all; but like many reviews on this case he did not mention that the SSD adapter is made so that you can attach your SSD on the back of the motherboard plate; a handy little thing that i like with the case.

  • Comon Rodney!! The world wants to know, does this case "scratch the surface"?

  • Hey! A question for you, was thinking of buying the silverstone fortress ft02. and noticed it has 4 fans, while my mother board only has 2 system fan slots. But i don't even see see a motherboard in the case you are reviewing, when checking fan noise. So to power all my fans will i have to wire them into the powersupply or something?

  • @FuckoffTard

You will probably have to use 3pin > Molex adaptors.

  • note that rodney is very picky about removable motherboard trays.

  • CAN THIS CASE FIT E-ATX BOARDS ???

  • coolmaster HAf x or this case someone please reply

  • Rodney and his Removable Motherboard Tray ;D

  • does this case come with the fans apart from the cpu fan? and will any atx psu fit in the space allocated?

  • @crudnup I believe it comes with three 200mm fans in the bottom. And I believe even the longer PSU's can fit in it.

  • @vearheart42 so there is no fan at the top? what size fan do i need to get for that space?

  • @crudnup There should be a 120mm fan at the top. Oh and I was mistaken there are three 180mm fans in the bottom.

  • @vearheart42 ok so when i buy this case i just put all the new hardware in

  • @crudnup Yes sir!

  • @vearheart42 great, thanks, sir!

  • damn i wish i had the cash for this! might get this or something like this for my next build, but for now a CM 690 ii does the job well!

i just really love the sideways motherboard idea. not only does it make more sense, it looks awesome.

  • I have this case..but I dont consider it full tower..its just a deep midtower to me. Love the case nonetheless :D

  • Awesome! The way they rotated the mobo is great for heavy graphic cards and perfect for the airflow they'll get. Very good!

  • This case looks way bad and is poorly designed. Do as I did and go for the antec 902

  • God I love this man's voice. I wish he would narrate my life.

  • @Solidstate89 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

  • @Solidstate89 LMFAO! Wow.

  • @Solidstate89 Best Comment Ever.

  • Thanks a million man for the review. I have been thinking about getting this case over the HAF 942 and you have completely sold me on it!

  • This case is fantastic! I have to say....I love it!

  • stinks because no one else makes 180 fans

  • Love this case,wish I could afford one! :-(

  • Rv01 rocks!!!!

  • Unfortunately, the motherboard tray is Not removable.

  • woooo the rv02-e is nearly out, combination of the ft02 and the rv02 pretty cool and the tj11 and rv03 are out in june, be awesome to see what they look like, woop

  • @RavenTech10

Are you sure? How did you find out about all this?

  • I want this case so bad ;_;

  • Mid tower not fufl

  • @madzane94 full tower 2:07

  • He always wants a removable mobo tray lol xD

  • only 2 usb?

  • Ok

It looks like I will do just fine with it's little brother, the Silverstone RV02.

The FT02 is too expensive and pretty much offers the same as far as I can tell.

The cooling in these 90° cases are just superb.

  • full tower? This case was very small in the first view (not bigger than the raven 2) and just 1 fan for extracting the hot air is probably too few, especially with a SLI of GTX 480

  • @samworkshop You can have a case with solely intake or solely exhaust. You don't need both.

  • @ oldmanwhithers...Its ment to fit like that...

  • nope..... it isn't, at4.49 you can see the psu fan, its meant to face the opposite way hence the access hole with the dust filter

  • @oldmanwhithers...Your right on that...I thought you was talkin about psu angle location.

  • i just noticed he mounted the psu the wrong way

  • Its ment to be like that...

  • oh oh oh .. lemme guess ..

    its KICKASS.... right?

  • hardcore case

  • damm looks like this case is risky 4 those who had 5970 already...it look way 2 close 2 the fan n may cut the gpu wire in the process...haha

  • I wonder why didn't they just put two long dust filters at the bottom gap. But anyway, this case looks so sexy.

  • cause its trendy. it cost them more to make it like that so it will cost more for us to buy it. marketing lol.

  • perfect case,im saving up for this,antec900two is too small inside

  • Yo seriously why do people give a shit about the weight especially when it's gonna be stationary most of the time. 30 pounds ain't much, heck I do arm curls using 30 pound weights.

  • lolz not many people r muscle man like u thats y haha

  • I really like this case and am likely going to buy one for my next build. I am a bit concerned that one major disadvantage of the rotated motherboard design is that if a drink or other liquid is spilled on the system it will flow down inside the components including the video cards. This would fry components very quickly. Does anyone else second this observation or share this concern?

  • lol I can see that being possible but if it were to happen in any other case, the same thing will happen although it won't damage the components as much. If your really that worried I can sell you my Lian Li V2100B. I've been eyeing on this case for some time now and am ready to take the plunge. My Lian Li is basically sealed everywhere except the back I mean the door even has a lock. There is sound dampening foam everywhere so liquid should be absorbed there.

  • It's a brilliant idea to rotate the mobo and put the fans at the bottom as hot air rises. Very nice silverstone and thanks Rodney for reviewing.

  • Why didn't ppl do this before??

  • yes cold air sinks warm air rises, good concept but it would be better with 2x fans at the back like antec.

  • @luvmaika but it only has 2 usb ports and if you have a motherboard that comes with 3.0 usb i'm not sure if it's even possible to take advantage of that :s..

  • @luvmaika

The actual difference in temperatures is not noticable. It's more a PR-thing, and also it's quite nice to have it rotated as the cords are on the top.

  • Though it would have been nicer if they had make the top solid, but with vents to one side, and allowed you to place the tope so the open side faces the right or left. Right now if you cover the top, the air can only escape trough the back where cables are routed.

This would dampen the sounds as well allow you to place stuff on top, like a router or headset etc..

  • The advantages of the 90 degree rotation are the fact heat rises, easier access to connectors, fewer or no obstruction between the intake fans and the gpu, cpu, it's easier to see if the gpu fan is dirty as it's facing the side rather then the bottom.

  • is there any other cases where the I/o shield is on the top?

  • The rv01 and rv02, both from silverstone.

  • I just bought this case 2 weeks ago. Amazing case.

  • This case is great, cool features and perfect for modding, the bad side its the price, but if you're going to spend 100 or more in modding then price should be no problem... I want to see one modded right now.
