  • who else but neil young could have made such an amazing soundtrack?

and it's one of the best movies of all time, too!

  • just masterpiece! Fantastic!

  • The speaking film "Dead Man" calls to us...

Some say it descended with the lightning.

But I believe it was here on earth, and was projected DOWNWARD by the bolt!

  • genial

  • youve had the last phillistine Goerge!

  • Neil Young did the soundtrack sigle-handed and hes CANADIAN thats why its awsome!

  • watched it and it is great!! had to go buy it after I saw your video, good job. sad movie

  • I missed this one, have all his movies. looks so sad. will have to check it out. he is always so great and so hot. best actor ever!!!

  • By far my absolute fav Depp movie. Definitely check it out.

  • Best song in the movie is when Nobody tells his story. Anybody know a link to that song?

  • love this movie maby my favorite of all time

  • the best film i have ever know, realy. everything is perfect.

  • epic

  • Awesome movie, great sound track.

  • If you ask me, the best film of 1995, and one the best (if not, the best) westerns of the the 90's.

  • Actually, scratch that--it's one of the best westerns ever.

However, I do like 1995's Underground more than this...

  • this was fucking awesome i just saw it like a month ago

  • did a movie just get uploaded it was like dead man or someting i forget someone just uploaded it anyone know?

  • God i love this movie... its soo good!

  • Fantastic Movie. Amazing Johnny Depp, the music is brilliant. It's my favorite film with "pierot le fou" of Jean Luc Godard and The lady of Shangai of Orson Welles.

  • That is a very peculiar company you placed it with but, I can see it coming along there. Mesmerizing film, I have to admit.

  • the most underrated film of all time. i have no idea why it isn't as famous as films like citizen kane and the other great classics of cinema

  • where can i find the full movie??

    :(i can't find it anywhere!!

  • search: johnny depp dead man part 1

There's a vid, but it doesn't have the very last part, unfortunately

  • Adorei esse filme, quando da primeira batida da guitarra eu tinha uma certeza: Neil young

  • this movie looks freaking awesome.

  • I loved the music track that played throughout the movie.

  • The best movie ever made. Soundtrack, acting and the incredible black and white rendering by are from the finest. Go watch it (again)!

  • @mainad0 I could not agree more! This is hands down my favorite movie of all times and has been since the minute I walked into that tiny dusty theater in Northern California and the theme song faded up... just saying... :D

I love this film ans the soundtrask is howesome

information: it' s a solo by neil young

  • its goddamn good film.and the sountrack fuckin awesome..

    speaking stones beneath the earth

  • Are you William Blake!?

"Yes I am. Do you know my poetry?"

  • Dead Man is a classic piece of art work, it is a study into life and death. The film starts off with a man with hope and descends into a man who's fate is death. Jim Jarmursh along with Johnny Depp, Iggy Pop, Crispin Glover, and Robert Mitchum bring this masterpeice to life!

  • this movie wasn't made to win money or prizes. it spits on your cash. that's why it's so great. it's a movie that has something to tell.

  • I absolutely love this movie. Without a doubt, one of the most beautiful movies I've ever seen.

It's a shame it only grossed 1 million after costing 7 million to make. I think the timing of it's release may have been with regard to popular culture(during a time of really bad movies coming out from Hollywood)

In time, I think, this movie will last through time and will come to be appreciated for its absolute beauty.

  • oh man i hope so

  • this fucking movie rocked

  • This was a pretty good movie. I beleive there were a few unnecessary parts. I don't think that the "bounty hunter" had to get eaten. I didn't know why the dead sheriff's head had to be shown being squished. I don't know why there was a man getting a blowjob in an alley. And, what was the point of the whole "Cole fucked his parents. Fucked em both. Killed em.", or some dialogue of the sort. I thought they were a little to risque and didn't need to be put in the movie.

  • that's not really important in the development of the story, you know? It just added to complete the atmosphere.

hahaha, it's really impressing how stupid people can get to be nowadays

  • It doesn't have anything to do with being stupid. It's just an opinion. Opinions have no intelligence rating. You're very rude, by the way. I was going to suggest you read a certain book by Dale Carnegie to improve on people skills and such. However, I'd rather you not gain intelligence or people skills, so that I and many, many others, will surpass you life as a better person, morally of course. But, do try to remember this: You're no better than anybody else. Do not be critical or judgemental.

  • you in* life

  • Do not be critical or judgemental?

You should take your own advice.

  • love music and oprahnoodlemantra! begrudge bambi every second !! (is this film gorey?)

  • A little...:)

  • The movie is just full of scenes like that. Full of imagery and spirituality.

There's a scene where he finds the dead baby deer and lays down with it... very spiritual, if your aboriginal, I believe you know what I'm saying.

It struck me like he was singing the baby deers spirit to the starts when he looked up the tree.

  • nice love music love oprahnoodlemantra begrudge bambi every second!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (is this film gorey?)

  • Buffaloes (bang bang)

  • A+ movie. Jarmusch is king.

  • Look! Buffalo.

  • Dark, with the correct choice of black and white, the flawless Johnny Depp and the incomparable Neil Young. Great stuff.

  • my brother kept telling me to watch this movie and when i finally did i loved it- i like it when johnny depp gets asked who r u with and he says Nobody and that is the indians name(nobody)

  • oh i must of forgot about that scene cuz i havent seen it in like a year but yea i can get what u mean although im not aboriginal-i like that johnny depp did western cuz that just shows how versital he was even before he was well known

  • I love this music!

  • Neil young est incontournable

  • sauf pour le laisser passer...

  • Classic. Nuff said.

  • Everyone here deserves a pat on the back for their excellent taste, my fave for a long time now.

  • It's Neil Young's theme from this very movie.

  • What is the music you used for this?

  • I had seen 2.000.000 movies in my 50 years fuc... life and this one is the very very very best of all. I don´t know why but I love this one.

  • what is a favorite movie of urs that u recommend me seeing bcuz i love watching new movies-if i can do so i recommend u see fight club or brick, 2 very excellent movies

  • I personally love Escape from New York about as much Dead Man..

    But for different reasons.

  • My movie!!!

  • One of my favorite movies...just beautiful.

The track itself doesn't have a real name...but you're able to buy the film music.

  • Normally I don't like western's but this movie is great! Maybe it's because I like Johnny though... Anyway... Does anyone know the name of the song by Neil young?

The one that is played in this clip?

  • Every day and every morn'

    Some, to misery are born.

    Every day and every night,

Some are born to sweet delight.

Some are born to sweet delight,

Some are born to endless night.

    /William Blake :)/

  • What can you say about this movie? Robert Mitchum, John Hurt, Gary Farmer, Johnny Depp, Billy Bob Thornton, Lance Henriksen, Iggy Pop, Gabriel Byrne, Crispin Glover, Neil Young. This movie is so good it would be impossible to say how good it actually is.

  • I haven't had the opportunity to see it....But i'm so looking forward to!!!

  • This is such a great movie. And the music...the music is really awesome.

  • best film ever made in my opinion

  • I love this movie, especially the scenes with Johnny Depp and the Native American known as Nobody..

  • I also love this movie, and just watched it again 2 nights ago. It is so visually beautiful/haunting, and the music is so incredibly lovely with this film. What an unusual combination, and how lucky for us that Jarmusch was able to follow his vision in the making of this film. Thanks for posting this clip, I'm favoriting it also.

  • unique film. the best of its kind

  • I love westerns.. I love Dead Man.. This one is going into my favorites.

  • Most of them are Cree and they are speaking in the Cree language. The lines are written that way as a gift to those people. For more information on the movie, read Celluloid Indians Native Americans in Film by Jacquelyn Kilpatrick.

  • This movie is beautiful

  • i think this movie is quite complex, more than just a parody, which i think it is... but i think .. .dunno

  • You think its a parody? A parody of what?

  • a parody of a western, but as ive said more than just a parody it has other themes more profound... as a mans transition to death

  • it's not a parody of a western. it IS a western

  • AWESOME film!

  • great job . thanx for doing it

  • wonderful soundtrack.

  • This is an excellent film, a parody of Westerns and art film stereotypes, while still being a great black comedy and Western. "Got any tobacco?"

  • r the indians in this movie cherokee....cuz i was just thinkin tht this doesnt seem like the kinda movie johnny would b in but then i realized tht he has cherokee in him... tht would make since.. i just need to see the movie

  • I love, love, love that movie. I can't even understand what is about it. This music is brilliant, too; it's on constant loop in my head lately.

  • You don't see these kinds of beautiful marriages between film and music often enough. Thanks for sharing.

  • Ironically, the best version of the song only appears on the opening credits of the movie - it's not on the CD. Tragic

  • I agree, that song over the credits is amazing and sucks me right into watching the whole movie.

  • This is great, I love it! I made a Dead Man clip too (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_WQE7AO9LA), hope you like it!

  • Funny, I just watched this movie again this week and am so impressed with the work. Is Johnny quoting Blake in the original music video?

  • this is a great movie, good clip well done <3

  • I am drooling. Why is Johnny Depp so beautiful Lord?

  • Dude, Neil Young lacks no technique.

  • wonderfull! love this music!!!

  • the best soundtrack ever! and nicelt put together. cheers for posting!

  • The western is the best film genre.

Its a shame that they stop making them. Thanks for posting

  • good film, great soundtrack. What Neil Young lacks in Technique he certainly gets back with his fantastic phrasing and improvisation feeling.

  • Great music that goes well with this very cool film!

    Thanks for posting
