I have ubuntu on my dell inspiron mini 9. Everytime I run package manager from the right click menu and click install all updates i get the following error messege: E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct problem. E: _cache->open() failed, please report.
My web browser has also stopped opening and i cant get wireless internet connection. What should i do? please help.
@mrfresh9900 Just restart your router, dude. That is the 1 issue with ubuntu. It will not stay on your router if your router is being an asshole with phones and video chats. I personally recomend a new router, faster please!
Next year in my school, business tech academy students (which I am) going to get one of these laptop, but I don't know if we have to bring it home to do homework.
I paid under $300.00 for the netbook and have been using it daily since the posting of this vide. I have since loaded OSX, its pretty awesome! I recommend the RunCore 32GB HD or bigger if you can handle it.
There has been some interest in the status of a BIOS update. Sadly, nothing is out for us yet. I'm going to make a video soon to cover how to update the Ubuntu loaded software though. So look forward to that.
I believe the issue is related to the bios. There is a bios update for the Windows Minis, but not he Ubuntu models yet. You might want to check that out.
Good video. I have the same exact unit. I noticed the same thing. EIGHT wasted seconds between the time you hit the power button, and the computer doing ANYTHING.. That's insane. Totally unacceptable, imho. What is it doing for 8 seconds before even posting?
how do i restart the system? i bought this online and the guy that sold it to me forgot to give me the password now i cant update it

@mrfresh9900 I'd recommend a OS refresh personally. Backup your needed data and reload.
Since this video I have upgraded to Mac OS for the mini 9. Its wonderful!

@Schweegi 35 seconds isn't bad all things considered, but faster is always better :)

@jessexbraughton
The Mini 9 is sitting on a Macbook pro. I don't own a Mac Mini, but I do like them!

...Is that foot spray in the background?
SLeepdepD 3 years ago
It's "Cling Free" static spray for clothes. The wife left it on the desk.
Keen eye for detail though.

Are you able to sync your iPhone with a ubuntu system?
bdalb 3 years ago
There are options to sync music back and forth. I'm looking into that too.

Apple has taken care of not being compatible with Linux.
